They also made it where you can't cheese the the village part where you have to survive for like 3 minutes. I use to just get in the tower, hide in the corner so the fire doesn't hit you and then shoot anyone who comes up the ladder. Now the ground breaks and you fall down into a pit of zombies lol. Yeah you *REEEEEALLY* gotta run it like a higher-difficulty Mercenaries Mode from the original RE4 where everything is aggro'd and the waves are higher with less resources overall in terms of ammo. That first battle in og RE4's story is terror because it was a brand new system, with a short taste of the old RE1-3 ammo shortage usually not being a problem, only to find out that in this new experience it's a *huge* problem cause BOOM this is an action game more than a survival-horror game. Every bullet counts. It tells the OG players from the fixed-camera-angle games that "yeah, collection and purchasing of ammo is very, very important now" whilst also unspokenly making the player 'go broke' to not be able to load out Leon's setup immediately and tilt the difficulty scale in their favor early-game. All of it emphasizes the need for more than just terror-runs through the game, making exploration of every area and backtracking for treasure a worthwhile thing so as to increase/'pad' gameplay time and allow Leon to unlock new things from the Merchant. I can see why they did it with the original game, but the bullet-sponginess of these enemies within the new engine is going to possibly make ammo conservation more important than gameplay itself (save for boss battles) and turn it back into dodging around and knife-only... Thus recreating the old experience from RE1-3, which makes remaking the game irrelevant honestly. That's my only concern with REmake4. I just hope there's a good balance of difficulty to ammo-count and that it's not like, "Hey here's 6 bullets and a frag, go take out a Regenerator with triple the health, Champ. *Hyuck!*" Leon: "w a t?" 😯😨

I've been playing it over and over too and so far most of my negative thoughts about the game went away as I played it. The only things I don't like rn are the death screen cuz it just isn't the same as the og (both sound and animation) and also the healing sound effect. Everything else is pretty much a really good upgrade from the original, can't wait for the game!
