It’s also worth noting that if you find the barn with the cow inside of it (on the right hand side of the fire in reference from the binocular location), lure a cluster of enemies to follow you, run through the barn and then shoot the lantern on the ceiling in the center of that barn. It will not only light all of those enemies on fire underneath it, but the cow will catch on fire as well… Making for quite a heated cow on the loose, lighting anything and everything on fire in its path!

Not that simple on professional. They not only flank you bit every were you turn there is an enermy. Play it on easy they gather and don't flank my 4th run on all difficulties.

You can camp at the top of the ladder in that tower. Just don’t try to grab the herb in the corner. Pick off people as they climb the ladder and toss down a grenade into the pile of people gathering at the bottom of the ladder. If chainsaw guy gets up on the ladder run to make the floor collapse and just run through town killing time till the bell rings.

I’m not sure how this played out successfully for you, but it resulted in nothing but game over when I tried it. I simply ran back to the doors and took out as many as I could with the hand gun, then slashed away until the chainsaw cutscene appeared. Around that time, the bell rang and this mess exited into the building with the symbol on the door. I was hanging on by a thread, but it was victory nonetheless.

This is how I tried to do it in the original game,, but you just get completely overwhelmed. In the original, you had to run into buildings and loop them through them. If you stood in place, you were gonna die. So now you can run back to the gate and just stay there, do you loose any loot, or can you go into the houses afterwards?>

@@D00M3R-SK8 Standing in place is precisely how I beat the village in the original game, on my first run. I dragged the mob to the gate where you come in and I just over and over til everyone was dead. Apparently, in the original, if you dont run into the shotgun house there is no chainsaw guy. In the remake, I felt a lot more pressure to move since the headshot stagger does not work on every headshot.

Weird. I shot loads of enemies after the cut scene with the copper getting barbecued. Then the cut scene played with the villages wandering off. There's no chainsaw bloke after that and I still have 2 grenades.

Yeah, was getting stressed not being able to beat it and I survived long enough for the cut scene to appear, and they all disappeared into that building. So I wasted all those bullets for nothing 😭

It's not a very good scene to have so early on, I died more times fighting these villagers than in my first half an hour of elden ring. It doesn't help that your knife breaks easily and you literally cannot melee without shooting someone in the head three times first (!)

Staying in the shotgun house is a death sentence unless you get lucky. Moving around is really necessary indeed. This part of the game is even harder in VR immersive mode since you need to master your movements to pick up your pistol and shotgun etc and load them with efficient movements of your arms. A real pain in the butt and stressful lol, but doable. In the VR version the church Tower floor dont break but the mob throws explosives up at you, forcing you to leave the tower or die.

@@BlueDream71071 yeah I have developed the fine art of knecapping them with the pistol and then slashing like mad with the knife, when they are on the ground, like there is no tomorrow lol. Conserves ammo to say the least... Shotgun is very nice for crowd control. Once Ive finished the game I will give the village another go and see if I am more skilled dealing with the mob lol

This game has a bit of a learning curve especially if you are used to the original RE4, and have not played any of the modern RE remakes, like me. I have died 5 times here trying to kill the chainsaw guy, and I am playing on normal. I don't like how you have to use the right joystick to steer Leon, and I keep pressing start to open my inventory. I just need to get the hang of the controls, and I will get past it now that I know about the other grenade locations. I may just evade them for 5 minutes.

I always try and make sure I execute the chainsaw bloke , that way get a ruby for a reward for extra $$$ I tend to go into the house that triggers the cut scene of Salvador, run up the stairs and jump out the window on the right at top of stairs and stand on the roof and shoot them all as they climb out the window , and Salvador comes out the window , lob a grenade in his direction and follow up focusing purely on Salvador with as much shotgun till I run out , lob a flash grenade at him then kick him and while on the ground stab the shit out of him b4 he gets up , if he's not already dead and then use the pistol aiming at his knees and hope he falls and then kick him again and then keep shooting with pistol. If he's not dead by that stage then run
