I love almost all the Resident Evil games. Not all of them are amazing but I love this series none the less. For resident evil 6, I appreciate the intertwining stories with the multiple characters in this game. Yeah, its not a horror game, but it gave us a few new characters and expanded on the lore which I always appreciate.
@Noname155142 жыл бұрын
Expanded on what? This terrible game gave you more questions than answers. You can tell Capcom won't bother even to try to fix that mess as RE7 and RE8 acts like that plot doesn't exist.
@rometherevenant87492 жыл бұрын
@@Noname15514 Try to look at Resident Evils main timeline in totality. Resident Evil 6 does not need to expand in the lore in terms of some kind of virus that exists to improve on another virus. The Resident Evil 6 story purely exists just to be a set of events that intertwined characters that would otherwise not even have met face to face, but because of the epidemic and scale of the C Virus and what countries it affected, it brought Leon and Chris together for the first time, something thats never really happened with reoccuring protoagonists. Look even up to now, we still havent had Jill and Claire meet despite their very close relationship with Chris. Same with Leon and Jill. Despite 6 not being amazing, its still important as an event timelime due to the closing of Resident Evil Revelations 2 which was important due to Claire revealing her knowing Pearce, who ended up being a close friend to Chris who was already experiencing PTSD after the events of 5. Resident Evil 6 as you said led to Capcom giving the series a course correction and to have them improve on not just the horror aspects, but the writing as well with the introduction of the Megamycyte and Oswell Spencers influence which takes the series in its full circle. I understand that Resident Evil 6 isnt the best Resident Evil game and yes it may have not expanded or pushed the series forward, but I appreciate the multi character setup and intertwining campaigns. Its a first that Capcom ever made a game this long in campaign for Resident Evil and like I said, it may not be a great game, but its still part of the main timeline.

I loved their campaign until the end, I felt like Simmons was such a ridiculous concept, way more ridiculous than we've already seen in RE4 and RE5 with Giant robots and eel parasites. I also didn't like the oversexualization of every female character, Helena's sister is literally naked and has insane jiggle physics and poses sexually mid boss fight, Sherry is naked and then scantily clad in Jake's campaign, Carla is shown fully nude exiting her chrysalis which that one is understandable but the camera angles were iffy. I have a huge issue with Sherry Birkin's unlockable costume because it's borderline pedophilic, it's her clothes from RE2 but they barely fit and look like a "slutty student" halloween costume.

@@chucklebutt4470 I can agree with that. While I loved the game I would definitely love a game that is just as long, but focuses on one specific group instead of having three campaigns. That could really flush out the lore and add some depth to the characters you were playing. Resi 6 had really deep combat, with counters and dodge mechanics is was awesome. I don’t know if would say the combat was “better” than older titles, as the titles were made to be slower and more restricted, adding to the brilliance of the older games. However, 6 did have different combat, way deeper, way cooler looking. But a lot of resi fans don’t care to be flashy they care for the survival horror. That being said, resi 6 is still a game to this day that I will redownload and play from time to time, pvp was incredible, learning every counter hit felt like an achievement. This game breathed fresh air into the resi series and albeit a unpopular opinion, I fucking loved it. I would love to see this combat system expanded upon in a resident evil game some day, because I’ve never felt more badass in a game than resi 6. And Leon’s fighting a style is begging for a 6 2.0 Tl/dr - resi 6 is an incredible game worthy of your time and you should definitely give it a shot. I really can't understand people who call themselves fans of the Resident evil franchise, hating this game. This game was a literal love letter to all previous Resident Evil titles before it, each chapter had a fitting type of atmosphere for each character's story. Leon and Helena had the traditional horror vibe, and traditional zombies RE is famous for, Chris and Piers had a more action packed, third person military game atmosphere, which fits because he is fight global bioterrorism, same with Jake and Sherry's campaign, only with the added bonus of playing as Wesker 2.0, and Ada Wongs campaign fits her as well, stealthy with the additional nod towards some of the classic puzzles from old RE. I really don't get the hate for the game.

Because it was another stupid action shooter in a sea of action shooters and went way overboard. Just because you say "hey look these characters! Hey look zombies! I love every single Resident Evil game from the mainline to the spin offs. There's clearly a split between the old school fans (which I fall into) and he new school fans (which I also fall into). I'd say the split happened from Resident Evil 0-3 and 4 was the breaking point to go on to 5 + 6 before it seems CAPCOM started listening to feedback more with Resident Evil 7, VILLage, and other titles. As of 2022 it seems CAPCOM is at their peak firing on all cylinders with no only Resident Evil but many other franchises like Monster Hunter with Rise and World; Rise first launching on Switch being one of the most impressive Switch exclusive titles (at the time) now announced for other consoles along with the Sunbreak DLC later. Anyways I think CAPCOM has diversified their portfolio enough and had a high enough output of games, sometimes outsourcing smaller games while focusing on big titles in-house, to be able to satisfy a wide swathe of gamers which is what I think they were aiming for with 6. I think that most of the criticism for 6 comes from it not only being this total action game flying in the face of the series roots and what hardcore fans wanted (see critic reviews vs angry fan reviews). For people who grew up with 4 as their first game I think 6 wasn't as bad as those who started with the OG game. That isn't to say that 6 has some glaring flaws but overall if it is taken on it's own and removed from the canon of the Resident Evil history and main series I think it's a GREAT game. Definitely not perfect but a game worth playing. I think the sentiment of RE6 has slowly begun to swing more towards the positive side since it's release as people aren't as embedded in the hate of it when it first launched and are maybe more willing to give it a shot. Still many veterans and other gamers don't like it or have mixed feelings but I think in years it will begin to get a cult classic status. It's still too new but I imagine by RE9 it will have a more positive view while still being viewed as the worst in the series (hopefully).

Ngl I loved playing this game game for each story. I know peeps don't love it but I enjoyed every moment of it with my only problem being the ammo capacity. I was always running out faster then I should have which sucked but other then that I loved this game

I’ve been aware of RE since I was a kid (probably the ads for outbreak gave me awareness) but we weren’t a Capcom household so we never played it so I played 6 at my friend’s house and I was aware of T virus and all that and was INCREDIBLY confused by C virus and everything storyline wise. My roommate’s favorite game series is resident evil and has been playing the remakes since we moved in together last year and It’s been a long time since I’ve done research and rewatches of anything so I’m starting from 7 and moving backwards and now I’m here since he’s playing the RE4 remake

Playing as Chris And/Or Leon was the coolest part of this game. Not my favorite RE game but I’m glad capcom and the resident evil team took the series in a different direction cause what we got now with the remakes and Ethan’s story has been great

I like the comment near the end of ada stalking leon because that is what it almost feels like, I mean, those two would make an amazing couple, as 2 survivors of similar calibers would make an interesting storyline finisher for two characters at the same time

Re6 is my favorite re game, with re4 following close behind. The reason I love it so much: It's got the best balance of action and horror. It's got some of best multiplayer options, with couch co-op and online co-op but also has great online modes. It also has one of my favorite character in all of the re games, Piers. (he didn't deserve that ending though😭)

20:54, uh, you got it wrong. Carla Radames didn’t volunteer of her own free will. Another researcher singled her out. She being Erik to not turn her into Adas Evil twin, but he didn’t anyways. She got revenge on the other scientists and Simmons. Also Big contradiction, she knows she is Carla Radames, she even implied it at the end of original Ada’s story.

Resident evil 5 was awesome. Played that game so much. The multiplayer was a ton of fun. And multiplayer mercenaries was great. Spent a lot of hours with me and my friends playing that game.

I really enjoyed RE6. I bought it when it came out without any research into it before hand. I played it every evening when I got home from work and I really enjoyed the action movie with a touch of horror aspect of it. The bigger story of it was a cool change for a RE game

RE6's story was literally them trying to write around the fact they killed their best villain one game before. Simmons feels like such a retcon. "Trust us guys he totally was behind Raccoon City, his family totally shaped America and the world into what it is now. Trust us guys."

This game is great for people that care about lore and story heavy games. If you only care about horror then you hated this game and loved 7. But if you were one of the people that wondered what other characters were doing during events of other games this was cool. It showed what multiple characters were doing during a period of about a year or so and it was all in one game instead of two or three. It was great to see multiple characters instead of one because we hadn't seen some characters in quite a while. And overall it is fun as hell to play with a friend. No it wasn't horror and the gameplay wasn't typical of a RE game but I enjoyed seeing characters like Sherry who we assumed Capcom forgot about. And I think the one thing that would've made this more fun is if every storyline played completely different. Have Leon's be completely horror, Chris' be action since he's mostly fighting with a military, have Sherry's be more puzzle heavy, and have Ada's be as it is. That's what it needed imo because the different campaigns were too similar in tone and play style. I also feel this game should've traded Pierce for Jill since we hadn't seen her in so long. And since the last time we see her she was saved after being brainwashed for two years and then we fast-forward to today and her story has been left alone since then. How can they leave a main character's story just up in the air after something so big like that?

I love this game and It is a fun co-op experience. My fiancé and I really enjoyed the mercenaries game mode. I know it doesn’t feel the same As the originals but as a big fan of the series I thought this was fun one.

Can we appreciate that Simmons literally modded his real life GF into Ada Wong? Also, this game contains Leon's worst experience as a driver... He didn't crash a truck no that's for amateurs... he crashed a freaking plane.

RE6 had the best combat, having a melee button was a good choice that I wish the kept in the remake of RE4. (they're trained agents, why is throwing hands & kicks not a option -_-)

Just saying, as someone who had never played a Resident Evil game before this one growing up and therefor didn’t have any expectations going into it, this game was so fun. I to this day have never known a more fun and engaging co-op experience in any game then every campaign of Resident Evil 6. The memory of my buddy screaming that “Water Cthulu’s got me! Help!” Playing as Chris Redfield at the end, and I, playing as pierce, in all my teenage glee watched him crawl towards the briefcase with the virus and said aloud “No-.. No way..” followed by a triumphant “I’VE GOT A FUCKING LIGHTNING ARM!” Before blasting the fucker in the face. It is one of the top gaming memories of my entire life.
