we’ve had over a dozen traditional survival horror RE games, i’m down if they try something boldly new, especially if they keep up the release cadence they’ve had with alternating between first person resident evil and third person resident evil

I honestly don’t see how open world would work for a survival horror game. The reason why biohazard was so tense is because of the tight spaces. I don’t see how the comparisons to monster wilds and dragon’s dogma 2 are appropriate eitherC since those are not horror games. Maybe they’ll make it work, but it’s not how I would envision a horror game being.

i'm just over hoping the rumours are true and Capcom are remaking *Code Veronica,* i loved that game on my old Dreamcast. i'd love a modern remake of the original *Resident Evil* as well, as the older remakes are still good, but i'd love to see them do a modern take like they have with 2, 3 & 4.

What do I want? I want RE to go back to its roots, I want the 3rd person and I want the original, beloved characters to make a comeback, not just Chris, I want to see Leon and Ada again, but overall I want good, interesting characters. I don't care about Ethan (who is dead now anyway) Mia and Rose, Rose isn't main character material and I truly hope we can move on from the Winters family

(Slight spoilers) By the end of Village, I kinda fell in love with Ethan Winters. Which kinda pains me that they wrote him so open and bland. If I had to stack the top 3 re games 1. Re2 Remake 2. Village 3. Re4 Remake Platinumed all 3, adore them almost equally ( platted RE2 twice, so there's thaat).. but Village has that MGS-esque boss cast of characters that I ended up adoring the more I played it for the Plat. Definitely not on the same level obviously haha

Ugh. An open world RE game is the last thing we need. It's the last thing any series needs really, unless the series started off that way or we're talking about big, sprawling RPGs. Open world fatigue is real. Even an open world that has substantially more to do in it like Elden Ring still felt bloated to me and boring. I'd rather have the structure of Bloodborne or Dark Souls. Please don't turn Resident Evil into an open world series, Capcom.
