It's very rare I see the full color (un censored) version of the intro og RE1 outside of my own personal playthroughs. People forget that Chris starts with a lighter because he smokes cigs (like cool people and solid snake) because it cuts the scene of him smoking a smooth, refreshing cig in the American (very neutered) version.

These HD mods are super impressive, but man, they will never not look uncanny to me. I actually tend to prefer the original, compressed backgrounds because the compression artifacts almost create a bit of a film grain look to me. The HD mods are so smooth. Too smooth, they'll never look right to me.

Im the same, i have the HD mods for RE1 and 2, but i stripped out all the pre rendered upgrade backgrounds and left the vanilla ones, just upsing the HD sprites (basically anything that moves) to me the HD backgrounds look like screenshots of a level from the old source engine. id rather have them slightly blurry but with character than feel like im playing a version of garys mod

Considering they were being chased by dogs someone might have got cut off from the group, fired off a few shots, and had to make a quick turn when the door was shut. And probably wound up either by the heliport or guard house.

Just finished my run of re 1 rando with the upscaling. I got poisoned by Yawn and when I woke up I was in the safe room with the serum, which I hadn't been in yet, I was stuck in an area where all I could do is finish the game, was a really strange one. There was no way back to the area I was at before, every other area was a dead end. Going through the door to where you normally see Richard and see Chris at the final tunnel was quite surreal.

I play PS1 games with ePSXe with the graphics fine tuned to look like a CRT TV (on composite cabling). It looks almost identical to how it looks on the CRT TV (was editing the ePSXe settings with the CRT TV turned whilst comparing the image with several PS1 games, it look a bit of work but the end result is that the emulator depicts almost the same image, which is wonderful!).

Holy shit, you can randomise dialogue? How random is it? If the same 3 characters were in the same scene again (on a different seed), would the dialogue be the same or different?

Yes, but the chars actually have some context (like who they are talking to) so it's shockingly not quite so random sometimes. But yea that's a option you can toggle, along with which chars can appear (there is a large list of chars from RE 1-4, survivor, even 1.5 and more you can select from or select all etc). Biorand is crazy customizable. Just check out their site. But you can tweak basically anything. And you get a "seed" (a string of numbers and characters) that you can share so people can play the exact same run as you. You should check out their site. Because somehow and I have no clue how, they have a download on their front page of RE 1, 2, and 3 for PC with the seamless HD mods pre applied. And the classic rebirth patch applied to each game (required for the HD mods, but also translates the game to English, makes the game fully support modern windows, x-input controllers and much more) You just extract the archive and run whatever game you want to play. Also comes with Biorand (it's in its own folder). If you want to play a biorand run you just launch Biorand and set the run up however you want.
