People who do this should be sentenced to 80 hours of community service cleaning up empty/vacant lots that were dumped on for first offense, second is mandatory 60 days in jail and on release do community service as stated above.

Whatever left for hours he can go to another dump site and clean up them too!!! I know Detroit has been in poverty with houses abandoned and run down. What's "extreme" about taking pictures of someone dumping illegally? It's not extreme at all, it's what responsible people do to stop irresponsible scum who engage in illegal dumping. Capping his ass would be extreme. Unless and until the predatory dumpers are exposed, embarrassed, shamed, humiliated and ultimately prosecuted, fined or jailed, it won't stop. Why don't the citizens get to gether and go to the council meetings and demand the city pass a city ordinance.... Anyone caught dumping anything.. (Even a bag of.?) Minimum $2,000 fine and 60 day impound on vehicle Plus four times the expence the city pays to clean up the dumping... Anyone that records the dumping with faces and license plates receives half the fine.. (Good business) And that the courts can't lessen the fines or impounds

My wife videotaped a commercial landscaping truck.... close up of licences plate - logo and name on door and driver's face as he dumped brush and stumps on vacant lot next door. We took the vid to the cops ....... (Suffolk Co 7th precinct, Long Island NY)....... and were told that an actual police officer must witness the dumping or there is nothing they can do !
