its a check box its for the individuals piece of mind that their test kit is there or there abouts,both check box and multifunction will still require an acredited calibration for it to be offical on site.

Only worth getting if you have bunch of MFT’s to calibrate yearly, if you only have the one MFT then you might as well just pay to have it calibrated. If you have a bunch of MFT’s, get a checkbox and have just that calibrated, you can then calibrate all the MFT’s in-house.

I have the same check box . The IET and The NICEIC to me if I check my MFT monthly and keep a whiten record dated for each month then I don’t have to send My MFT away for annual calibration unless I see any major deviation .

£140 for a box full of resistors. The RCD test with it's LEDs is the only "fancy" thing and that's easy to replicate. The CalCard is bad enough at twenty odd pounds for 10 resistors

So how do you calibrate the calibrator? And make sure the calibrators calibrator is calibrated? 😂😂

That test box appears to be identical to the socket n see test box. I have an Oz version of it .

Do you have to send the FC2000 calibrated? If you don't, how do you know that the testbox is accurate?

We had a calibration box at the previous company I worked for we had to send it away once a year for calibration.

I think you need a non-RCD socket to plug it in, otherwise the RCD in the DB would trip on loop & RCD checks.
