They probably wanted the thick tails so they don’t heat up as if they heat up within the allowable limit the plastic becomes softer and easier to damage

Back when I was house bashing, I was doing a full CCU in about 30 minutes. It didn't look pretty though. Bit ambitious to do a triple stack in 34mins.

I just drive 1 - 8ft copper clad steel rod into the ground using my hammer drill with ground rod install attatchment. No hammer needed.

I've been doing this for ages and can never understand why no one has ever come up with a better gland-tightening tool. I mean, of course, there's the traditional way, and there's the old-school way, where they use two adjustable, flat drivers, and a hammer to deal with the lock nut. I've also seen glands socket set and lock nut spanner floating about the internet but never seen anyone actually buying them and using them.

Realise this is the safe and proper manner you’re fine probably without it it’s not recommended because a few carrier could actually disintegrate in your hands. It has happened to people before and they have died so do you think it’s overkill? But you don’t survive to tell people when it isn’t

This is exactly the kind of content I need right now. I’m a sparky but mostly do low voltage stuff, alarms etc. Thinking very seriously about starting my own business after 20 years on the tools. It’s all feeling pretty daunting but seeing you take all the necessary steps and doing things by the book is a good source of info. Been following you for a few years, this seems like the right move for you.

Well done for taking the leap. The best advice I can give is to look at the long term bigger picture more often than you think you need to, and don’t get complacent. Set up two or more Ltd companies, one for domestic one for commercial/VAT registered clients etc. your domestic customers will appreciate not being charged VAT, at least until you reach that threshold. Get clients to get expensive materials that you’re not making much/any markup on to keep your turnover down. I’ve used ServiceM8 since 2017, happy to help with the bugs you’ll experience. I also have some good quote and invoice templates you can take which I spent endless hours tweaking. And unless you plan to have 5G or WiFi at all times, don’t get a ServiceM8 phone contract/landline - I hate it. Out in the field, it’s rare it doesn’t drop out on you. Works perfect if I’m at home using decent WiFi. Suited for a fixed office, not mobile use! Good luck 👍

wtf is with this 2015+ youtube where EVERY SINGLE IDIOT is "reminding" me to like sub etc. Bitch, I didn't forget, I keep getting told on EVERY SINGLE VIDEO, we know how youtube works. We didn't forget. We don't want to sub or like, stop being obnoxious. You got a freaking job, stop hoping you'll gain millions from the ad revenue. If you don't wanna do the video, don't do it.

Brilliant mate, I’ve been running my own business since October 23 and found out that every day is a school day on improving and growth. Will definitely be taking some of your working practices shown in this video, I have always given my quotations with a breakdown as even with my wholesale price and markup it is still cheaper than the RRP online which if someone was going to look up then they would see that. I felt that helped with winning jobs as I didn’t have a known reputation at the start, now that I have multiple online reviews and a good name I think I may change to just a price. Been a big fan since I was in my second year of my apprenticeship in 2020/21.

its a check box its for the individuals piece of mind that their test kit is there or there abouts, both check box and multifunction will still require an acredited calibration for it to be offical on site.

Nice neat work. Regs does state banjo both ends but depends on your earthing arrangements if your going from a TN to a TT system then you’d need to be careful you don’t mix the two systems up if that makes sense… so you’d gland your SWA into a plastic IP box before going into the metal consumer unit if your sheath is TN-C-S protected to then convert into TT system that’s in the guidance notes but all depends what’s going on there not 100% sure from the video…

Back to my college days - creating a Faraday Cage type scenario guess so there’s minimal potential difference if not any PD. Clever stuff! Makes sense as you say they are skilled or instructed people so regs change or are far more relaxed because of it! Nice work

English way of explaining things Does not work for every one It would be good if we could see real testing more around property practically I mean This way of explaining. Is colledge way for Students you could be good trainer and teacher. For sure If some one who just started college say like few months Still would not get what you saying Even if they have English as first language But it is good for some one who is electrician or work as electrician for company or self employed If you deal with Costomer directly and deal with work as well as main guy I mean if you are director Then you must know all this. All of it And I think it take 5 years for students here to understand electric in and out also uk work system and style In whole is good explanation Study make perfect and learning and learning Thank you. ❤

Of course you need to make a profit on materials. You don't walk into Currys and expect to buy a washing machine for the same money that they paid for it.

Great video mate. Mark up on Labour and materials is essential imo as you’ll have overheads to pay for and those unexpected over runs. Having a good wholesaler rep in your corner who you have a good relationship with to help you out on prices when needed as well as support you on jobs that are timescales/margin tight as one incorrect/late delivery can really screw you

Nice video The containment times look about right , however the second fix for the sockets seems a bit tight the sockets fine but you have all the swa’s to gland off some look tight upto the ceiling and dress in ,stainless ties upside down . Allow yourself a bit more time with the testing and the design

Because I've been watching a while, I'm sure you know this but you need to mention some of the other costs; van running costs, fuel, accommodation maybe even food and tool replacement. Each will hit your profitability and therefore justify your markup for parts and labour. Great video and nice clean job!
