It was to carry 48m passengers a year. As of now, the estimate is $130B cost, with the first part only to open in 2033, and the rest probably about 2050. The estimated number of passengers is now down to 28m a year when finished. In any business in the world, or in any competent government, would have been canned, and heads would have rolled. I grew up between California & Massachusetts, it's the same case in Massachusetts too. Corruption is rampant everywhere in society now, and Democrats being on their mightier than thou power trip is no coincidence. Destroying America while fluffing their pillows is the main key objective. I lived in Van Nuys, Pasadena, among other area's and went to Cal Tech as did my Dad. California is a *Dream* of the past. Not the future. I agree with others who've said California will never be the same after all of the harm done and it's still too much a brain washed elitist culture who vote in favor for corruption. You can't live in sanity amongst the insane. So I left and I'm grateful to God for giving me that sense in judgement. I also agree with sentiment out there that God is present and His is a force mightier than any. I also see where allegations being made that this is too uncanny to Hawaii, the insurance company's cancelling people just ahead of disaster, not much being mentioned as far as homeless lighting fires or that this could be arson. The patterns of fires and in some of the most affluent places. Maybe God, maybe the devil, but I don't feel American tax payers should be responsible for the bill. Resignation is NOT adequate. People have been killed!!!! Billions in losses. The federal government should take over California, declare it a federal zone and recruit members of the community who are educated & experienced in disaster management and as importantly if not more, engineering prevention and preparation. That state has ZERO excuses. They have some of the most money in the world, talent and technical advancement. They have had people try to help them. They are evil and corrupt, and wanted this. Climate agenda, thirst for destruction, kick backs, whatever the case may be, they must be criminally responsible.

I’m a California native and live in an area that is high risk for fires which is Riverside County but since they are celebrities now they are just waking up. Most of the middle or upper middle class try to recall governor Newsom a couple of years back and it failed. But now that these celebrities have had their home lost to the fires are now opening their eyes to our corrupt government in our beautiful state of California. Please keep in mind it is very sad that they have lost their homes rich or not no one deserves this but unfortunately something so horrific had to happen for the rich and famous to look at the big picture.
