Jen I have been doing resin for about a year so I am still a newby ..You are using polyurethane resin which sets up really quickly you cant color them as they will dry white you can paint your molds with mica powder but they will be diluted ..normal resin sets clear takes longer to set and can be colored with pigments and mica powders hope this helps..Resin can go off so I think the resin that doesn't work has gone off ...You could use UV resin but it needs a Uv lamp you can add glitter and stuff to it ...you can use alcohol inks to color resin... love your work

Perfect timing! I was just looking at buying this stuff but I had no idea what to do so it probably would have just sat in the cupboard…. But now I think I’ll get it and give it a try. Love all of your work. You are very inspiring and encouraging- thanks so much!!

I use polyurethane resin too. I paint mine with gesso and then use acrylic paint. You can also brush your mold with mica powder then pour resin and the mica powder will be permanent. That box of resin you got from hobby lobby is old..I can tell by the price...lol I haven't seen it that price in yrs. All resin has a shelf life, so that hobby lobby stuff is expired.

Try painting them with a clear gesso first before painting… that might work to help the other mediums stay on… just a guess. lol… posted my comment right before you pulled out the clear gesso 😂😂😂

That was fun to watch. I have some of the resin like the one you showed first. I have never used it. I hope it works better than the one you have. That box is not cheap. I have had it about a year. Does it have a use by date on it? TFS Have a great weekend.

Make another small batch of the resin and paint it on, and it will seal it

Or just spray seal it with mod podge clear sealer...much easier

I can't find the two tan colored molds; by any chance do you know the names of them?

I could not find them either. They must be sold out or discontinued. I say the names in the video but I think they are My Love and My Sweet or something. Hope this helps

Next time put it right into the resin. Then it will be permanent! You can put your alcohol inks right into the resin
