Glad to know this film is available. It is good for me because I need to be productive when I have energy. It would be good to use with my older grandchildren. Or even grown nieces on craft day. Everyone could have their own color with no mess for the hostess. Thank you.

Your products are awesome. I only came across you a few weeks back and purchased a few products from your site. Your experience SHOWS in how well the products work. I am amazed. I have only been experimenting with UV resin up to this point and was not up for the 2 part mixing... but your product put me at ease. Exactly how you show us on these videos and how you explain it is EXACTLY what it does. I love that. Thank you. You ABSOLUTELY have a repeat customer.🌺🏵🌸

I discovered another interesting idea! ...in the last minutes of this video (with real clear, useful & simple instructions) you show a sort of "wave effect" created by layering an embellishment after one hour after pouring Brilliant-resin...maybe this "reaction" during the hardening process could be used for creating other wonderful effect...I will try soon!
@LittleWindowsResin
@LittleWindowsResin 10 жыл бұрын
Lovely, eh?! That takes a bit of experimenting to make sure the resin is set up enough to hold a wave, without being too set up, so that it will still act as an adhesive for whatever you push in. I usually poke my project with a mixing wand every 20-30 minutes in the 1-2 hour set time range, you want a string of the resin to pull up with the wand, and for the string to flop over on itself (vs. settling right back into the resin). Closer to 2 hours seems a better time frame, vs. the 1 hour I mention in the vid, but it also depends on how thick the resin layer is. Can't wait to see what your mind creates!

Hi Lindsay, I fight the urge to nibble on them, thanks for the positive feedback! You've heard right, our LW Brilliant Resin is awesome for lots of reasons - versatile, non-smelly, safest epoxy you'll find, great color stability, .... And yes, you can work in cold spaces although it may take just a bit longer to set up. The key thing is to warm up your Part A - ours can be microwaved in 10 second increments. It thickens up in the cold, so warming it will make it nice and thin, and will blend with the Part B much more thoroughly, and bubbles will be able to rise easily. (DO NOT HEAT OTHER RESINS OR CHEMICALS AS THEY CAN RELEASE HARMFUL FUMES). Hope that helps, have fun creating :)

Hello Bresorte, thank you! Resin is so fun. All of our molds are polished to a shiny finish and your castings will always pick up the surface texture of whatever material you're casting in. Our plastic molds have a special coating so our resin doesn't stick, and our silicone molds are easy-release too. Hope that helps :)

Just received my first order from you and I can't wait to get started! I am wondering about using my finger to touch the project while making it. Aren't you concerned about the oils on your finger transferring to the piece?
@LittleWindowsResin
@LittleWindowsResin 7 жыл бұрын
Hello Esther, sorry for the delayed reply. We don't recommend touching the pieces until they've set up at least 12 hours, at that point any oils from your fingers or other residue can be easily cleaned by wiping the piece with a soft tissue or t-shirt, or by washing in cool water with dish soap. I hope that helps :)

I like the glitter backing and will give it a try but I'll also be on the look out for a metalic foil I can use as well. I also have a few questions maybe you can awnser for me. 1. when making a casting the surface tension makes a sharp curved edge. how do I get around smoothing these down and keep a clear finish. 2. What attachments can I use to turn them into necklaces?
@LittleWindowsResin
@LittleWindowsResin 8 жыл бұрын
+Manuel Hernandez Sorry I missed this follow-up Manuel, you can either trim off the edge, or sand it with damp wet/dry sandpaper (it's easier and cleaner to just trim it off with scissors :) You can drill through your pieces, or attach a flat-back bail, which you'll find at your local bead shop, or online. You can also try the awesome Doming Up Technique, which makes really bubbly, smooth pieces. +LittleWindowsResin Yup, I think I'll like working with clear resin. The videos are very easy to follow and informative. Pretty much everything I wanted to ask has been answered. I plan on purchasing several of the large silicone cabochon molds mostly for the 2" diameter molds. Do you think further down the line you'll make molds of just the 2" silicone cabochons molds? Finding a half sphere mold is insanely hard to do for whatever reason.

+ChopSaki Sensei Hello ChopSaki! Nope, food coloring is water based, which will not blend with the resin. Same with most inks, so while the Resin Color Films are the clean, easy, inexpensive way to get clear color, you can also use colorants made specifically for resin. How hard are they as a finished product?
@LittleWindowsResin
@LittleWindowsResin 9 жыл бұрын
+Branden Ruckus Hello Branden! If you're familiar with shoreD as a measurement of hardness, our resin will fully cure to a ShoreD of approx. 80. If not, it's pretty darned hard, but not entirely scratch-proof. Also, while some resins will re-soften when they get warm, ours is less prone to do this. If you'd like to email me the specific project you have in mind, I'll be happy to share my findings and trouble-shoot with you. fran@little-windows.com Thanks for asking!

hello, did you try using food coloring with resin ?
@LittleWindowsResin
@LittleWindowsResin 6 жыл бұрын
Hello! Yes, and that doesn't work with epoxy resin because it's water based and resin does not like water. If a colorant works better for you, I would suggest you try alcohol inks, or Dr. PH Martins India Inks, they slow the cure time slightly, but work pretty well for not a lot of $ Thanks for asking :)

Hello Alma, many colored films will bleed or run in resin, or will fade over time. These Resin Color Films are heat-safe and fade-proof, so they're great in resin :)

I guess youo don't have to worry about your fingerprints showing on the film?
@LittleWindowsResin
@LittleWindowsResin 10 жыл бұрын
Nope, unless you've got sticky fingers, or lotion on, which might compromise the bond between the resin and the film, but no, it's a firm-ish film that doesn't collect fingerprints like others might. Have fun :)
