Maybe the spoon is meant more as a page holder than as a bookmark. Like, for example, you are following a recipe in a cookbook and you need the book to remain open to a particular page. Just an idea.
@emilyrlnАй бұрын
I think you might need a ladle for that 😂 not sure that spoon could keep a book from shutting, especially when it's round-side down. Bending the handle on top of the bowl might work, as then there'd be more contact between the spoon edge and the pages… or you could use a binder clip or something else more fit to propose!

I've recently repaired (in a way) my roommate's pair of glasses using wire (kanthal, 24 gauge) and some builder gel for nails. I have to say in a way because of how I applied the wire and builder gel the glasses are NEVER going to fold shut ever again. The pair of glasses broke at the hinges of the bows and I layed down a layer of base coat around the bows (did one side at a time) and cured it. I then layed a thin layer of the builder gel and placed the wire on the wet gel and then cured that. I repeated this step for each of three of the four sides of each bow. I then layed down a layer encompassing all four sides of each bow and cured that. These steps were then repeated for the second bow. So, now the glasses are again functional as a pair of glasses but they can't fold at the bows anymore..... but at least they are functional again.....

I just want to say thank y’all, for helping me discover my passion and love of resin crafting. I started watching y’all about 2 months ago, and decided to try resin art with my husband soon after. I ended up showing a few pieces, such as bottle openers and “Crystal” necklaces, to my sister-in-law. She enjoyed them enough she asked if I would be willing to make decorations for her baby shower (which is in just a few hours, now), to which I gladly agreed. I got so carried away with the honor of being asked to make decorations, that I ended up also making party favors (shot glasses for each guest bag), game prizes, small medium and large (necklaces, shakers, and working Ferris wheel photo frame), as well as many decorations, all of which took over 2 gallons of resin. Of course my husband has had to help me the last few days since I may or may not have taken too much on, however it’s been an absolute blast to watch our hard work continuously improve and impress our friends and family, and I’m truly excited to see how the baby shower guests and prize winners will react when they see everything we put together for the party. 🖤💙🖤

For things like this, you should do kina like you do the expensive vs cheap comparisons. Do the hack, then take the idea and make it better. Like, maybe at least sand and shape hack 3 to get it clear and level. And for the bookmark, either do use the idea to make it into a necklace, maybe pop the resin out of the spoon so it has a dome shape, or find something better to use as a bookmark made out of resin.

My guess was that you'd release the resin from the spoon, flip it dome-side up, and then you have a little galaxy bubble. And you could make that a pendant, like Katelyn's guess. But, that's too good of one for those dolts in who-knows-what-country. And don't forget the mold release!

A flexible silicone mould would still make the demoulding process easier than a rigid metal spoon

I just wanted to suggest that for the lavender resin hack, they probably didn’t use parchment paper, I believe they used wax paper. Since wax paper has a more shiny surface and might theoretically be able to démoli the resin easier.

8:50 i love how Katelyn cant bend the spoon and then Evan cant help himself and makes it worse bi saying it was the cheapest one they had, as if to say the cheaper the spoon the weaker, lol

I’ve done the first one as like a craft kit thing as a kid. No idea what the materials were made of except that it had to air dry over a period of time but it totally worked. Makes me suspect it’s a different material than the us resin you used. I’ve also done it with nail polish but that’s an exercise in frustration.😅

Evan: Bend the spoon with just your mind. Katelyn: Looks intently at spoon. Me: There is no spoon.

For the book mark, put the bowl of the spoon (the pretty part 😊) outside the book and the handle inside on the page . The proximity of the handle to the bowl will determine how many pages can fit in between. I suppose you could adjust it as you move through the book (until it breaks because the metal has been bent so many times).
