THANK YOU for allowing us to learn from your mistake. Some people are too proud to post anything that show a mistake in it. But by doing so, we have learned so much about the art & we've learned what a humble person you are & a good teacher. You've earned yourself a subscriber from the first of your videos I've seen🥰

You are so inspirational. You have me thinking of so many things to make. I always wanted to learn to pour resin. My ex brother in law years ago use to make resin war scenes with plastic soldiers getting shot and blood flowing .it was for a war protest, that’s how long ago it was. I was 15 and I’m now 63.... but anyway I think he used tweezers to place the figures into the resin. They were very animated and effective. I would personally like to create something more organic and beautiful. Thank you for your very helpful tutorial. Your personality shines and you are a pleasure to watch and learn from.

I make coasters in the same molds weekly. I use a candle lighter for the bubbles and I wait 12+ hours and I have no trouble getting them out. If I do I set them in the freezer for 20-30 minutes or set it in the sink in hot water. I have never had a problem with the sticking of the mold. I do use mold release on some molds that aren't very pliable. Your petri pours are beautiful!

Annie & Laura Bingham (from comments), I haven't started yet but I will be ready in about a week. I've been watching videos on working with resin and this is the first time anything has been mentioned about protection. I am so thankful to you both for this! I'm also a bit obsessed with reading the comments or I would have missed this completely! Thank you for all of the wonderful knowledge I gained from watching your video and reading your comments! I'm walking away from this one with a wealth of information! Just a little FYI, I was watching a video on something similar to this only it was done for yummy desserts. He was dripping food coloring onto the clear edible substance (not sure what it was) then he used different tools to push the color (ink) into the mold to create flowers and leaves inside. It was so beautiful! I don't know why you couldn't do the same thing with resin. Just a thought you might want to try........

These turned out really pretty! It seems like you literally melted the silicone mold right to the resin on the other ones that you torched. No weird science there, you just roasted them past their melting point! I use a heat gun for my resin and it does a great job on the bubbles, plus it makes some cool new patterns. It's not for everything (sometimes a flame works best) but it should keep you from your pyro tendencies. 👍🏻

This is gorgeous but oh my god PLEASE use gloves! I can no longer use resin :( since I've now become super sensitive from using it, and I get crazy allergy outbreaks. Pls use proper ventilation, face mask, goggles, and gloves. It's so important to know this and teach it. This stuff is extremely dangerous, even if ArtResin touts itself as being 'non-toxic', but once you add stuff to it and torch it, all bets are off and it's no longer non-toxic :/

Cool. I had no idea how toxic the stuff, and just dove right in! Watching tutorials, a lot of folks don't use any protection, so I didn't think I needed to anyway. NOPE! lol unfortunately now I can't do it at all since I dont want to risk my health :-/ "Always use protection" lol :)

Castin' Craft makes a silicone mold release/conditioner spray. It is possible to take a piece and round the edges or sandpaper the bottom flat. A quick rub over sanded areas with your fingertip and THE NEXT CLEAR BATCH. Give it at least one day sitting flat. Viola! Perfection

You gave some really good little tips that I will be putting to use for sure. I just got a bunch of different colors for petri dish coasters and can't wait to try make some. Art Resin is a good product, I usually pour each part into those squeeze bottles meant for ketchup and mustard, individually, not mixed lol. And using a small heater to warm them up nicely hasn't made the epoxy resin heat up and start to cure within half an hour. I've had that happen before with a different brand, kinda scary. I'm using Magic Resin atm because I got a lot more for my $$ and so far it's been great for projects small and big.

The torch softened the mold and heated up the resin at the same time allowing the two to mix then fuse together. Waving the torch quickly over the resin in waves and circles is enough to pop the bubbles. There is also a spray that can be used that will pop the bubbles as well and not affect the resin, another channel called positive couple uses it, however, it's in Russian so it may be difficult to translate.

These are so beautiful but I recommend you try to find another mold because casting shouldn't stick to the mold that much, I've literally never had this problem. Also can I suggest that to reduce bubbles you take longer to mix and mix slowly, then bang your cup on the side to rise bubbles and heat when bubbles reach the middle of the cup. Then their will be very few bubbles left after pouring xx

Using wooden stirring sticks can introduce more bubbles into a project. If you use metal or silicon to mix and spread you will have fewer bubbles overall!
