Resin Swipe - Creating Cells
This resin artwork started out as a geode design. However, the resin had other ideas. Once I began swiping the resin, some cells started happening, and so it took on a new life of its own. Going with the flow, I ended up looking like a whale breaching out of the water. I have to say, I am thrilled with the result.

They are made of acrylic and I buy them locally at discount stores. You can usually find them in the candle section and are called decoration fillers.

4:25 I just realized something.. since you sprayed the dark silver at first... L@@K at the Shadow it made, making it look like it is 3D effect!!!! How Beautiful... This video just taught me that I can use Spray Paint, India Ink, Resin, Paint.... Everything... I LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE.

Hi , as always I’ve enjoyed your video , just wondering do you have a clean up video ,as in how to clean up tools used etc , I seem to get resin everywhere and throw a lot of containers as I’m unsure how to clean up

I let the resin cure in the cups and on the sticks and reuse next time. I can get many many uses of the cups and sticks.💕

Turpentine, how and when are you using it . Will it make cells . This is my favorite piece you have done . Love it .

I apply a small amount of turps with a stick. It does help with creating cells and the beauty of it, it evaporates and leaves no residue. 💕

Possibly, using different brands and pigments , will definitely help with cells.

When mixing acrylic paint, make sure you use less than 10% of the paint in the resin. The better quality of paint, the less you will need. Better quality paints have a higher pigment in them.

I use Diggers mineral turpentine, although, I am pretty sure you can use any. You only need a very tiny amount. I add a couple of drops.

I buy my stones and gems from a local discount store (Red Dot) and the turps from Bunnings, a local hardware store.
