I was expecting to see something crazy and find out the reason why my mixes dont sound this great, looks to me as if just a few quality tweaks instead of too much stuff does the trick. I love it I wish so hard this would be done in cubase, but I downloaded it anyways and I'll try to analize it to learn. So thanks and by the way I think the music is very good too and I don't say that often loved the singing bit .. no tuning ?! well lucky you ! nice one and thanks!

Can’t thank you enough for this man. Absolutely slamming! After being in bands that have recorded on and off for years and recording demos on my phone in GarageBand I finally took the plunge and got a small amount of gear. Reaper is awesome! I sincerely thank you for this man!!...I have used your template in my first ever mixing and mastering!!!!....I did not change anything just added a HeadCrusher on drums (thanx to Black Hole Studios for that) and I did a slap delay and reverb sendson the vocals ... It was not a metal song but lets say a hard rock with Indian style vocals.. It was wonderful... I will always be thankful for this...will be using this always .. Question: what midi pack did you use for the drums? Or did you program it yourself? I have the metal song midi pack from Xln audio but when I use the samples with perefect drums they sound weak and small and increasing velocity does make up for it compared to your midi pack ? Thx

Awesome video! I'm interested though, if you're doing more of a deathmetal vibe and using more high and low screams Specifically where there's a difference in volume between the screams (my Mids and highs are very loud, but the lows are a little quieter) How do we deal with that?

Hey man I hear ya! I tend to tackle that at the source. Moving the mic until it hits right. Highs, I'm moving the mic further away or slightly to the side. Lows I'm closer. When I doubt though automate or adjust clip volumes.

Morning sir. How would I go about swapping out the FX on the rythm guitars say for another amp/cab option? How would this change in the mix? What parts of the EQs etc would I need to alter? I know its something I should have to do myself but really clueless around this ! Also, if I wanted to add one or two more lead tracks without over doing it in the mix? Would it be a case of simply lowering the volumes of the extra lead tracks? 🙏

Hey man! I would simply use your ears for the guitars. A B them endlessly till it sounds good to you. The leads yeah either do that or lower the volume of the rhythm guitars during the lead. Adding more leads, lower the rhythms even more. Hope that helps.

It looks like your guitars are stereo here ....ive been recording for a while and im struggling with getting this sort of loud in your face sound , any help would be much appreciated, getting abit frustrated to be honest.cheers.

Cheers! Drums are stereo. That's default with most drum plugins. Everything else is mono. Panned left right, left or centre. The guitar bus track is stereo though to allow both panned guitar to not sum to mono. Same deal with the vocal bus. All the master track plugins are stereo and that's default I think with most of those.

Hey Resington.. Love this template for easy mixes! I changed out the perfect drums with Ingram Audio Daddy kit and I love it, but I have an issue: The mastering is 0,1 from peaking, and it sounds to me on different speakers that it's clipping and the wave forms on the master is really ''even out'' 0,1 to peak through the whole song.. (Like really compressed) Do you have any tips for a way too compressed 0,1 master? If that makes sense

I would set the ceiling lower at maybe. - 1.0. Keep an eye on that reduction whatever u put through it.

Good video with the exception of your A/B technique. You always stop the transport and talk between the engaged and bypassed states of a plugin. A/B comparisons are much more effective when you loop a section and bypass/engage without talking. We can all see your mouse cursor. If you want to set it up for the viewers then you can simply tell us you're going to A/B a plugin engaged and bypassed.

In the download there should be a 'vst3' file. Put that in a folder and tell reaper to look for that folder. There any videos on how to use vsts in reaper. If you're on mac I don't know sorry.

It's supposed to be empty, it's just a template, no wav files. No worries dude.

@@resington thank you for your reply! For future templates: I think bit of the audio, even just a few bars, would help (me) experience it better , to compare DI volumes and fiddle around with the plugins. This is not to say that I' m not extremely grateful for your generosity, which I am. It's just a suggestion (that no matter how I word it sounds audacious from me). When I open the .rpp project all WAV files are not found. Any clue on this? Already updated reapper and installed all plugins

That's how it's supposed to be. It's just a template for you to use, not a full project with wav files.
