on res1 u get rewarded for completing the fame on superhuman difficulty by unlocking the black ops suit, but in res2 u get it by ranking up which kinda looses its authenticity cos everyone has it

Both are really fun to play, both campaign and online are great, I think online was a little harder in R1 because R2s online feels very noob-friendly. R1 took more skill I reckon.

I have Resistance 2 and I have played Resistance 1 but i want to know what you think of its multi-player and i want to know if there are still people playing on res 1 because I'm trying to look into playing res 1 again since there is no one on ranked res 2.

@blackacid1000 I'm not sure which comment you were replying to but the enemies that look like grims but are much taller are Alpha Grims. These are simply a lot stronger and in multiplayer coop they usually drop grey matter when they die because they are considered a boss battle.

To an extent, I agree. However I fealt that the weapons were overpowering, like in R1 where a hybrid would take like 8-10 carbine shots to kill, R2's took like 3-4 shots. Also, you gotta keep in mind that technology evolves more rapidly in Resistance so looking like the "26th" century is reasonable. I think that while R1's campaign was the best, R2's multiplayer kicked it's ass with 60 players and amazing co op, the lingering issue is the lack of new/wacky weapons though.

i don't know why but the first resistance has a certain feel to it that i dont feel in the second game - also they took out the co-op campaign which was the best thing in the game

R2 Isn't as good as Rfom in my opinion. It didnt feel like there was a impending threat from aliens the story got worse the levels werent remotely as scary as Rfom and the guns didnt feel as powerful. People say the graphics were better. On the level where you kill the giant spinner the land surrounding the tower looks like a crappy aerial photo from google maps

@guudgidga You will hate me for saying this but I did not find Resistance 1's gameplay unique. It actually felt much more like a better copy of Halo. Resistance 2 is more call of duty.

Resistance 1&3 are the best the second did some things right in terms of scale but was somewhat lacking I think. The only part that R3 stumbled was the prison level because the human opposition wasn't animated well and I think it didn't tie into the story that well. But with that said I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign.

Personally I like R2 because when it comes down to it, I want great gameplay, with great graphics.. the story istelf, well R1 explains really everything you need to know about the Chimera so you dont need that much explination in the second one.... both games are amazing though, and along with GOD or WAR, these are 2 franchises that you must play all of them, no matter what.

Well for me I like resistance1 better for story because it made feel like you were in World war 2 fight these Aliens but in resistance 2 I fill like it all about the future and crap.. Plus on mutiplayer it hard to find a ranked game but resstance co-op rules

They are even. R1 has better enemies and better weapons. R2 has Better Coop, better story and better online. But R2 has also lost that special Resistance feeling...It feels more like all other FPS games, even though it IS one of the better ones!..But R1 was kind of uniqe, it had different weapons, enemies and levels compared to others...I miss that in R2.

Rfom is VERY VERY hard you have to aim 100% to kill if your kill doesnt get stealed, everyone has last rank and they play in parties with their clans.Resistance 2 is more fun because its not that hard

R1 online is way better than R2. R2 feels like just a replica FPS of some other game. r1 maps and weapons are better to. And the fact that there isnt a seperate buddy list on r2 and u cant kick people out of partys
