nice work :) because you asked: yes, the hirschkleber or paste is what traditionally would be used on the toepuff if that is what you meant. Typically also between the toepuff and lining. If you refered to cementing the paper strip, i normally used rubber cement for that, because i was taught that the skived edge of the toepuff should stay clean of paste so it remains soft and a bit flexible. Also (if you allow me another tip) when lasting you don't have to drive the nails that far into the last. When you feel the nail hitting the last one or two more punches should do the job, because the row of nails is still strong enough. That preserves the lasts and makes removing the nails easier during welting.
