TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE HAVING TROUBLE IMPORTING FILES!!! Ok, I am new myself to Resolve but I am a 20 year veteran of VFX so I know that something small can sometimes trip you up to where you want to go nuts. First of all, anyone using a PC or a Mac should be able to import MP4 files. My guess is that you are still, while in the media section, are actually in the Timelines view and not actually looking at your "media pool". Make sure you have created a new bin and that the bin is not a Timeline bin which is a little wonky to me right now but I am sure has some sort of purpose. But at the moment, as far as I can tell, Resolve has a separate area for media that is TimeLines and ones that are straight up media. While not advisable, h.264 is available, as Mp4 or mov and so is every other codec in the world. Some are saying .mp3 isn't but I'd be surprised if it's really not. Either way, you shouldn't be using Mp3 or h.264. H.264 should be raised to a less complex codec such as ProRes or DNxHD. Good luck.

How do you import a MP4 file?
@kafka3158 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the point of this "video editor" I recorded a bunch of clips in CS:GO using Shadow Play, and I can't select any of the videos. This editor sucks, doesn't even work with MP4 files...

You need to have QuickTime installed to import anything.
