Resonant Rogues (Sparrow Smith, Keith Smith ft. Jason Dae West), "Leave the Path" // GemsOnVHS™

We were hanging down in Muhlenberg area of Kentucky with the Resonant Rogues, Jason Dea West and Lost Dog street band some time ago, getting a tour of Bard Distillery's new facility. Thomas Bard himself shows us around the site, a decaying school from the 1920s they are revitalizing for a new purpose; namely, making fine Kentucky spirits. Thomas himself went to school in the building in fact, and we love to see history being maintained instead of just throwing up new structures and bulldozing the past. it reminded the Rogues and Jason of some old haunts of theirs, sleeping in the rough from coast to coast. So why not play a little tune about roughing it in the hallowed classroom?
You might remember our Barefoot Surrender super-group video we got of the gang while they were all together for the first time in years ( • Barefoot Surrender, "G... ). More from that in the future as well.. a little tune some of y'all mega-fans might know, about humans and wanting to die, is in the loading list.

This is some solid, and approachable 3rd position playing. This would be a great song to approach 3rd position for the first time, as he's avoiding the difficult bends on the low end. Grab a G harp, play around between holes 4 5 6 (draw and blow). Avoid the 3 and 7 draw as those are major notes. Resolve on the 1 or 4 draw. Now you're playing in the key of Am on a G harmonica.

WTF, Gems? You name Jason Dea West and every executive producer but no mention at all of the Lost Dogs by name? The frontwoman is fantastic, and I'd like to know who she and the other members of Lost Dog are. (I don't remember you ever giving such short shrift to any band fronted by a guy.)

I'm so confused what you are trying to say right now. This band is called the resonant rogues, Jason is a guest in the recording, and lost dog Street band is not in this video except a small cameo in the beginning.
