Very cool video with tons of useful information. However one thing doesn't compute to me. "guys, doors can sound great" however in a competition "every single car had major resonance issues"...
@ResoNixSoundSolutions
@ResoNixSoundSolutions 3 ай бұрын
Because of poor installation/deadening. To add more context, even cars there that have vented kick panels midbass installations had resonance issues. I ended up tuning one of them recently and the rear sub, front sub, both vented kick panel midbass, and one of the midrange drivers were all causing resonance. It's not a door problem. It's a lack of solid installation problem.

Fun to watch these convos of super advanced installs. The sound physics of 2 subs in the back and 1 sub in the front boggles my mind. I definitely feel content to keep things extremely simple but go crazy on treating the doors and more 😇.

Nick, I'm one that would love to hear the A/B comparison between the 2 types of setups, but i do understand why you just went with one overall. I'd urge you to go back to the 2 separate systems. After finding out what the client wants, then demo that system and that system only to them.

Hi, reason that you struggled with the cutting is that volvo has a 3 way loading path for frontal crashes that converge in that area. So in essential what you ended up doing is weakaning the structural integrity of the car. But all for the love of sound, i guess

There is a lot of información left out in this video. Because sound treating this Volvo vs sound treating a Corolla requieres a different approach, some cars are built to lower standards,seat belt housing, internal doors hardware, all these things also requiere hundreds of hours and sometimes mayor un assembly.Some of the more affordable cars requiere so much deadening that by the time you are properly done with it , you have added hundreds of pounds of material and hundred of hours of labor, plus your wallet will be left with a big hole from all the material needed specially with the 2 or 3 layers that front door will need. Gas milage gets significantly affected, meaning this will keep costing you money in the long run. Properly installed Mid bass in the kicks or door enclosures reduce 60% of your rattles. Everything else gets properly treated. Plus the one thing sound treatment doesn’t do is stop that door from slightly flexing with the driver , that is a mayor issue for the driver to loose output energy. Good mid bass is achievable but can not be compared to what a driver can do on a solid surface. Anyone competing or playing at this level knows that.

@@canillocanillo3371 I somewhat disagree. There are some differences between a Volvo or a Corolla as you said, but looking at the big picture, they're really not much different. All vehicles are going to have the same issues when you look at them correctly. You will just find said issues existing in different ways and different locations.

@@ResoNixSoundSolutions point is… to say there are no mayor differences on installing midbass on the kicks, firewall or on a solid surface is very misleading. On the video only rattles and buzzes where highlighted as the issues, and while those are 100% able to be corrected with treatment, there are other concerns, like the window rail and other internal components that cant be 100 covered with material if you still want them to function… the actual surface while maybe not rattling, still flexes, causing energy loss, when you isolate that driver from the door these are almost all gone. But you already know all this… I just think that its good to have transparency about this, is it necessary to go kicks? absolutely not, but to say the difference is small even when properly done is not true. We all respect you and appreciate what you do for this industry, but it only takes one sit on a car with proper kicks and tune to know they its a whole different level.

I don't think you should knock the public hobbyist for trying or attempting to achieve the listening environment you pros brag about and pillage the pockets of regular blue collar guys. I spent thousands after coming across Peter and you end up with something ok but you got alot of questions. Then the stick oh get with my patreon, take my class, buy hi end dsp and amps but then you see a test and the signal to noise isn't no better than a alpine a guy may have collecting dust in his basement. I understand the hustle to make a living but like drug dealers, cigarette companies the installers/owners take advantage of the desire and passion of the enthusiasts. Someone taught you guys but you keep the skills secret, like the tuning. Manufacturers and shop owners say listen to my car steely dan sounds great doesn't it so buy this dsp, i tune it but you'll have no idea how it works or the process. Most people if they get outta coveting they would be happy with two 10s, $300 or $400 set of 2way and a 9 band eq already in the radio. At least raw cat breaks it down and shares knowledge even though he not a great fabricator.

@@speedpros there's literally not a single thing about tuning (or installing) that Peter or I keep secret... Edit: also, no one taught us. The resources are out there to teach yourself and have been for over a decade. That said, we also worked VERY hard to be able to do what we can do. But nothing about it is magic. Nothing about it is hidden. Tuning is very simple if you break it down to what it really is. Frequency response, phase, and timing. That's it.

I shared more videos on KZbin and Patreon in the last 6-7 years than anyone in the world of sound quality caraudio! You’re very wrong thinking that someone taught me! I learnt physics from school and going to library. I paid and invested in testing all sorts of installation techniques, different locations & applications and gave it all away for free so others like you, DIYers and professionals could learn from it, so you wouldn’t have to waste your time and money to do so! Guess what, Nerijus also grew up on Pssound content first! Probably his first proper reference was also when he heard my Honda that spent 2000 hours on to figure all this sh.t out! It’s pretty easy to get going after that, but it wasn’t easy for me! I also spent 14 years in pro-audio as a live sound engineer, but worked probably twice as much as summer season was always 300-400hours a month from April till September and even in summer season i was still doing 200-250 hours a month. Besides all of that i was pursuing building a future in caraudio. So why am i wrong to run a master class to teach people how to design & tune? Please watch all the feedback videos from those classes and listen to what the guys have to say about it! I agree, it’s a field that is filled with very passionate audiophiles. Most of them struggle as it’s very complex. I’m just a single guy, not superman to change everything in this game, but i’m trying!! Come and meet me once, show me your car, let me tune it! I travel the world now, so it can be managed, but please don’t expect me to do things for free as i’m already broke playing this game…i should have become a train driver… Peace ✌🏼

There are a lot of shady and scammy "professionals" in the car audio industry, but putting Nick and Peter into that pile, like you kind of are here, is REALLY offensive towards them. They are actual professionals willing to share their knowledge and if you "spent thousands after coming across" their videos, you've frankly missed the whole point of their teaching. Yes they showcase expensive gear in their builds, but they ALWAYS highlight the importance of proper installation and tuning, both of which are SKILLS that require practise and experience. And that takes time, and for many enthusiasts, time is still more valuable than money, which is why there is a market for installers in the first place. I, for one, am really appreciative of Nick and Peter for all the content they have shared for FREE for those of us who have the time and interest to learn about these things.

Absolutely absurd view on Nick and Peter. If not for those two my system would be no where near where it currently is. I was a Patreon member of Peter’s for just about 2 years. I learned so much that I honestly couldn’t keep up with all of the videos and so called secrets that was being shared. Peter actually spent time on a FaceTime call with me cause I couldn’t get my Helix director to pair up my DSP. He wanted nothing in return. Countless times I’ve gone back to their KZbin videos, Nicks tips and tricks on Helix software or inside view of installs. Peter sharing all the products and procedures to use for fabrication. Did I mention some of the great music tracks that I now have to listen to. I’m not good at tuning for one reason and one reason only. Cause I didn’t put in the time it takes to learn. What I do know is from Nick and Peter. And one other guy on KZbin Josh I think? 🤔 Anyhow, Thank you Peter and Nick…..

@myboy051 hey champ I didn't say I didn't like Peter, man that dude put the passion back in it for me with the voice, trick honda, that monster BMW with the jbl subs and the audi tt. I'm just saying he came up at the right time, people trusted and trust him as I do but it just seems as the championships grew he slipped away from KZbin a bit and it seems the technical tuning questions started bothering him. No offense I can understand a guy in his position taking care of a family but it just seems he a celebrity now everyone knows him so us guys who hung on every word, went from class d amps, analog x-overs and learning interfaces got kinda shuffled back to looking for a new teacher that can give a lil more time. Kinda like the football coach that encourage you then you find out he took the job at the big private school before the championship game lol just joking these guys alright its just car stuff I enjoy the builds just wish the manufacturers would go online with how tos, gear spotlights and factory builds featuring and explaining why what and should we buy and be loyal
