Reminds me of my childhood when I had to read Tintin and Asterix comics multiple times. Each time I would notice small details that I missed previously. My unschooled grandmother, back in the 1950s/60s until the 80s, managed segregation of waste. There was hardly any waste. All the veggies or fruit peels would go straight to the garden to become manure that also included used tea or coffee powder. The ash from charcoal was used to scrub utensils. The whole family shopped for only necessary things. Clothes were recycled as bags or hand me downs! Food wastage totally unheard of! She was very frugal but charitable at the same time. She fed the less fortunate students. She was the walking talking matrimonial center and referred hundreds of people. She didn't expect anything in return. Puja rituals, festivities, and feeding the guests were her priorities. What a full life she led! Simple, sharing/ caring mindset, humble, diplomatic, and graceful always. All these from an unschooled mind.
