Seriously, what do schools have against speaking like a normal person? Hearing these capacities and volumes in simple terms makes them so much easier to understand, especially when you have to explain the results back to the patient!

This video was very detailed. My professor took 4 hours to explain this in which I didn't understand, while this only took 20 minutes for you to explain and I fully comprehend. Thank you, you are most definitely a life saver.

Video keypoints: -peak- Tvi (inspiration) / Tve (expiration). -normal 500 ml + forceful inspiration -> inspiratory reserve volume (IRV) (2800-3100 ml) (5800-3000) -forcefully exhale -> expiratory reserve volume (ERV) (1200 ml) -tidal volume - ~500 ml (in and out) -Air remains in lungs, so they don't colapse (alveoli remain open). -> Residual volume (RV) (1200 ml) -Inspiratory capacity- IC- total volume you can bring in. Tidal volume(i) + IRV = 500 ml + 2800 ml = 3300 ml -Expiratory capacity- EC- amount of air you can breathe out. Tidal volume (e) + ERV = 500 ml + 1300 ml = 1800 ml -Functional residual capacity- FRC-- in normal breathing the air in the lungs is ERV + RV = 1300 ml + 1200 ml = 2500 ml -Vital capacity- VC- Tidal volume + IRV + ERV = 500 ml + 2800 ml + 1300 ml = 4600 ml -Total lung capacity- TLC- Tidal volume + IRV + ERV + RV- total volume lungs occupy. = 5800 ml Test- forced spirometry - next video in detail. Determine pulmonary function- restriction/obstruction. -> If you found this resume useful, subscribe to my channel :)

What I don't understand about our education system from preschool to PhD, why are educators required to have so many degrees and still cannot teach effectively. I had someone tell me you needed a degree because otherwise are not a good educator. NOT TRUE! I had an English teacher in high school say you don't truly understand something unless can explain in simple terms. This is it here! I have had professors with doctorates and no one by the end of class understood a word. I just don't understand. This is what a teacher exemplifies. Fantastic class.
