Just here to represent the introverts and say that being one isn't the same as being anti social! I would also like to offer some hopefully helpful advice and say that it is 100% normal to not know yourself completely at 22. Imagine how boring life would be if you had everything figured out with (most likely) 40+ more years of life to go! The beauty of being young is that you have a lifetime of learning and knowledge building ahead. And truthfully it never stops! You will change as you get older and discover new things about yourself constantly. It's quite fun and I think the beauty of you sharing these videos with us is that we get to see each other grow too ❤

"Thinking out my own life is hardwork" never heard something more relatable than that... I’m only 18, got out of high school, 1st year of med school but feels like I’m on the edge of a cliff... like... what do I do if don’t make it? Making decisions is so hard and the feeling of being lost just horrible...

It’s so daunting right? Just gotta go for it though and hope for the best 😅

@@PaigeY Wow! Didn't expect you to reply, but know that you're such an inspiration to me!! And yeah... The way society determines how we should live life is kinda difficult... I mean : "you have until 20 yo to decide what you'll end up doing for the rest of your life, then you'll have to work to be able to enjoy your hobbies freely... have a family and everything..." School is amazing but it kinda limit people? In a way, our first "life guide line" are our school results... It's so hard to do everything you want without some consequences... A lot of people I know wanted to study litterature, but the job market isnt that good in my country, so they study sciences... I feel like our way of life makes everything more complicated haha

We have a significant numer of things in common. In fact, I feel sure we would be good friends if we we were similar in age and lived in the same area. That is refreshing to know, since we are 5000 miles and 47 years apart ! It has been my experience, that the traits you talk about, remain with us through life as we age. They are who we are, and who we were meant to be. I have discovered that this "me" is to be enjoyed and celebrated. It is not something to analyze or over think. I have also discovered that we are always harder on ourselves than we need to be. No one expects us to be super-heroes in life or work. We should't expect it either. Thanks for sharing ! Steve... commenting from his home located outside a very small town in an extremely rural part of the State of Mississippi, USA 5000 miles and 6 time zones away .

Sometimes you may never know what the best opportunity in life is - what's important is that when you choose a path you make sure you are doing the best you possibly can! There may always be doubts and times you are unsure, but if you make it the best opportunity for yourself, how can you say you've gone wrong? You're doing great Paige it's been a joy keeping up with everything!

And also about work life balance! So many people in my course want to go into investment banking, and I don't see the appeal of it. What's the point of working over 40 hours a week, when you don't get any free time to enjoy life and money you earn?
@valarie2184 жыл бұрын
Hi Paige. Just an advice from someone who graduated almost 10 years ago: Good to look at investment products (such as unit trusts and bonds) when you're young if you're saving a lot at the moment and do not need the money. The younger you are when you start, the better off you will be when you grow older due to compounding interest. Future Paige might just thank you for that! Haha! And yes, I found my husband on a dating app as well. We hit it off right on our first date! Still, be careful on it. I'm in Singapore, so it's relatively safer than the rest of the world due to the incredibly tough law enforcement and the culture as a whole.

Hey Paige, I love your videos, I always watch them right away! I'm 27 myself and I really like your office videos so much, I was so lost when i started my first job... I think seeing not just how a day at the office works and showing people a career path that they might not know is open to them is really important! I have no idea why people think you're regretting becoming an actuary? People think in uni that everyone goes into academia but most people actually go into office jobs! I've worked with people from all kinds of interesting academic backgrounds in office jobs, I did law and politics in undergrad and I'm a trainee solictor. My manager (a solicitor) did music in uni, the other trainee was carer for years and has degrees in psychology and HR! And i have met people with every degree under the sun in my work :) Just wanted to show everyone in uni or just young not to panic you learn something in every job you have even horrible jobs :p

Hello Paige! I have been watching your videos since your first year in Cambridge but I don’t believe I ever took the time to comment. Thank you for this fun and interesting video! I loved seeing you pamper yourself, it made me look forward to doing it myself. Don’t be too hard on yourself, though. Most people don’t know what to do with their life at 22 and I think that is the reason why some people take the masters route or further their education in some kind of way. That isn’t necessary a bad thing but I do think a lot of people like the relief of putting off life decisions for a few years. I think it was a great decision of you to take on your actuarial job, regardless of wether you’re going to stick to it or do something entirely different. What I am trying to say is, you’re doing great and we’re all proud of you ☺️
