The we don't tic all the time has been the hardest thing for me to get people to understand. In a number of different ways. It's also a source of importer syndrome for me when I go long periods without. A personal share❤TW I had my Gallbladder out and the who process what so truamatic for me my tics waned and disappeared for the duration of the trauma. When we started to leave the hospital someone made me laugh randomly and I ticed "marshmallows" (a very common tic of mine) and flipped off the hospital my partner laugheing said "I guess your tics aren't broken. " I asked him afterwards what he meant by that and he said he thought they broken me 😢❤ that they and boke my tics and therefore me, they I wouldnt be me again, traumatized me and changed who I was. It was just as traumatic for him, I was in the hospital starting in October and now nearly 4 weeks later in November he had been through a lot. He witnessed medical malpractice and negligence on a massive scale and what happens when an autistic (and thats important) chronically ill patients specific medical needs are not met or even noted or noticed. Resulting in an necrotic Gallbladder with infections that could have been prevented had they listened to the patient who was ticing when I came in. They had me in a basement windowless "overnight" room for most of my stay... this may have something to so with it. Anywho He and I learned A LOT about myself and my tics and everything. I've never had them fully retreat like that but it was like my body was so sick and too weak to do anything else.
