OT miri, I consider your videos to be such a blessing. I am also so thankful that you have shared your journey with us! Failure had always been a big fear of mine, It took me 3 tries to get into the program, I feared failing the program and i have feared falling my test. I have had thoughts of thoughts of self doubt this week, including tonight. Partially when i had the thought, you know what i need to study. I need to get my mind off the stress and watch one of her videos. And I came to this one! :) so please just know, you inspire me and everyone around you. You have such strength and such a kind heart and I am so so thankful for your videos! I have recommended your videos to a few of my cohorts and they also find them to get very helpful!!! I take my test in Nov 8! And can't wait for more videos!

There is nothing superfluous of how you weave your therapeutic use of self in sharing your journey as those of us entering the field look for role models. Thank you for your transparency and authenticity and not wavering to the naysayers.

So thank you, Hope, for taking a moment to listen to my story, lift my spirit and most of all, sharing your journey with me here. It's so special to me that two perfect strangers can come together through a shared occupation/passion online and go on to forge a meaningful connection... ❤️ *Hug*

I want to give a huge THANK YOU for all the videos you make. You helped me pass my COTA exam back in 2018 and I am now returning to your videos to study and pass my OTR exam in two weeks! I can honestly say all of the personal anecdotes you add in to help link the content has been SO HELPFUL for me. The way you break down concepts and relate them to make them understandable makes me feel much more confident about going into the test. You are a huge asset to the OT community and especially all the fearful, anxious and tired students who you are helping guide through one of the most challenging times in their life :) I'll always remember finger feeding at age 9 with the blueberry analogy, task-oriented groups because of your coffee, wine and whiskey meet up reference and diagonal jaw movement at 7 months with the slot machine reference! Thank you again!

I GREATLY appreciate the fact that you use real life examples and silly associations with material because it is what helps me to actual remember certain information! You provide a fun, interactive, and engaging way to help us all learn. Don't stop what you are doing, or change anything, you are absolutely inspiring and wonderful they way you are!

Thank you so much, Katie. I really appreciate your feedback and kind words. There is only one mission that drives this channel and that is to offer what I know in service to our occupational therapy community so that others may walk this NBCOT journey with greater confidence and a sense of empowerment. And messages like yours bring me back to the heart of this mission to remind me why I pour my energy and time into making these videos. So thank you for taking a moment to share your thoughts and warm sentiments. I really appreciate it!

Wow, this message was in great timing. I have been having my own fears of failing my upcoming NBCOT exam. I could go on a rant on those fears but your message is helpful. At the end of the day, everyone has their own way to study. Those taking the exam have all went through the rigorous OT program and passed the fieldwork experiences to be proud of that achievement! Thank you for taking the time to express yourself and being vulnerable with us. You have got my subscription and people are speaking positive of you (that's how I found you on KZbin)! Thank you for also reviving my spirits to continue studying on a Friday night

You are beautiful and your videos are amazing! You give me tons of hope and I have learned so much from watching your videos and getting so many associations to real life and other things such as visuals. I test on friday and I am honestly freaking out because I feel like theres so much info I still feel I havent been able to properly retain, so watching your videos are helping lower my anxiety somewhat! Hoping to pass, thanks for all the time you take to provide us all with different ways to learn and remember.

Thank you for sharing your journey with me. It's so nice to connect with you and to know that we have been brought together through our shared path and occupation. I can still vividly remember how nervous I was prior to taking the exam, but I wish now that I would have taken more time and energy to remind myself how capable and worthy I am regardless of the outcome of this exam. You and I have both come so far already and nothing will stop us from living out our passion. You will do great and I will be rooting for you my friend.

Love ❤️. You don't have to worry about the people online Miri, those same people would avoid confrontation in real life but would type 100 mph on a keyboard to make themselves feel superior. You're a blessing to me and many others, and just know that you're making God very happy as He continues to add brick after brick to that mansion for you. You're doing what pleases Him (helping people succeed to become therapists to change countless amounts of lives) and that's all that matters. Drown out negativity with that smile and grace, and just know that you mean A LOT to people like me.

I can’t imagine walking this journey alone… without you. Graduating OT school is amazing but also absolutely heartbreaking as you lose your support system when you need it the most. Studying for the board exam is so lonely and overwhelming. I truly can’t imagine doing it without you. Also, I have taught professionally (former career ☺️), and personal stories are actually very useful in gaining attention, instilling emotional connection to content, and they lead to long term retention… so let the haters hate. They are mean-spirited and frankly ignorant to how amazing you are. Keep your head high: no need to check the gutter when you’re walking a higher path. ❤️

Change starts with us. I agree 100% with you Miri people for some reason will find anything to make a person feel sad, unworthy, useless, instead of lifting you up (not that we need it) and see all the good not only in what we do but in our heart. We have to be strong and it requires a lot of mental concentration to do this. If one person points out the bad 10 will point out the good so lets go with the 10 bc clearly that 1 is not important. Now if someone makes a constructive comment and help us grow then yes thank you for doing that otherwise like You say keep on walking. Once again thank you so much for your time and passion.

I normally wouldn't comment but felt the need to. You have really helped me through my OT journey. I enjoy the way you break the contents down in a way that people as myself can relate with so to get a better understanding. In life, one will always have a side cheering one on, and also another side trying to put one down. We just to take our eyes of the negativity, and let our purpose be the motivating factor and the driving force. While you are working in your purpose, you are putting smiles on so many people's faces, helping them achieve their goals and that's all that matters. Don't let the haters that are not doing anything for themselves, yet alone for others get to you, keep doing what you are doing. God bless you. Aww, thank you. 99% of messages and emails I receive are of incredible love and support. Being online and exposing oneself publicly can be a vulnerable process, but I am anchored and inspired by each of you who give me the strength and courage to continue to serve and love our community. So know that I am thankful to you as well. ❤️

Those nasty people who made those mean comments are just jealous and don’t know what they’re talking about. You’re beautiful and appreciated by so many people. Athe way I see it, you make those “extra superfluous” comments (which aren’t really superfluous at all) because you’re trying to relate what you’re talking about to the OT material being focused on in the video. And guess what. IT HELPS! Until I watched your videos on apraxia, MET levels, and SCIs, I struggled with the material. But now I feel much more comfortable with it. I’m relying heavily on your videos to get ready for my NBCOT exam in exactly ONE week (2/13/23).

Thank you so much for being here with your love and support. I will be thinking of you as you spend these next few days preparing to sit for the board exam. I hope you will go in there with confidence knowing that everything you need to pass is already within you. Be well, and please keep in touch.

Miri, I just found out that I did not pass my OTR exam and scored 441. I missed by 9 points :( I was pretty bummed out especially since I remember the feeling walking out of the exam and having that horrible feeling that I did not pass. I ran out of time on the exam and was not able to do the last 15-20 questions which i quickly put any answer to. I feel that if i had not ran out of time it could have been possible for me to pass the exam. I just feel lost and do not know where to begin with studying. I keep telling myself it will be okay and this is just a lesson but I just feel very discouraged when I think about pulling my books out not knowing where to begin. :(

Hi Asrar, I'm so sorry to hear you did not pass your exam. I understand how difficult and discouraging this can be. Have you looked through the OT Miri NBCOT candidate forums? There are many posts that contain helpful tips, strategies as well as personal reflections from those who recently passed the NBCOT board exam, whether it was on their first or 7th attempt. These posts are as insightful and helpful as they are inspiring. I hope you'll take some time to go through forums and find the encouragement and strength you need to continue. Take good care.

Hun, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be considering taking the exam. For years I allowed fear of failing the exam hold me back from taking the exam. Now I'm fighting the the fear of being too old to even become a COTA. Fear can be a beast if we allow it to grow and fester.

I'm happy to know my resources and videos have been a source of encouragement for you and I hope you continue to feel supported as you continue along your journey to becoming a COTA.

Hey Pooja, have you looked through the NBCOT Essential Guide on the OT Miri website? It's a full compilation of all the resources and tools I used to passed the NBCOT exam and it would be impossible to share it all here on the comments thread. Please take a look here: www.otmiri.com/nbcot-exam-essentials/
