@@AtomicF0x I mean Gizmo is just a kid with high tech gadgets, Mammoth is super strong but super stupid, See-more, we really don't know what he can do besides thermal vision and like, bouncy eyeballs? and Billy is an idiot. Kid Wykkyd and Jinx though, I'd say they were more than competent. Kid Wykkyd can deal damage with his cape and seemingly teleport or move through shadows. while Jinx is in complete control of her powers, is quite acrobatic and uses them effectively against anyone not named Raven or Kid Flash

I want to point out one interesting detail about Raven and Slade: Slade severely UNDERESTIMATED Raven - he only ever saw her fighting while holding back, he didn't even know where her powers came from or what she was, he never really focused on her as a "big threat" compared to Robin, Cyborg, and Starfire - It was only after making his deal with Trigon that he fully understood her true potential, which is why, upon his reemergence in the Trigon arc he confesses that "he had no idea." and "it's always the quiet ones." If Slade had known the truth about Raven from the beginning, he probably would have tried to recruit her instead of either Robin or Terra (He may still have started with Robin, just because he saw so much of himself in him - but he definitely wouldn't have considered Terra a more powerful Titan than Raven, if he'd known the truth.) - or, if he believed she couldn't be recruited, considered her the primary threat of the group. Which might be why his "brillant strategy" for Terra fighting Raven is to "provoke her" - not realizing that makes her MORE dangerous, not less. The only reason Terra wins against Raven is because Raven is trying to not give in to her demonic side - in other words, if Terra's tactic of provoking Raven had actually worked, she might easily have gotten herself killed - possible the entire city destroyed - and potentially unleashed a demonic entity that would destroy the entire planet. It was only Raven's self-control that saved her from that outcome. I basically see Terra and Raven's fight as a retread of episode 6 "Nevermore" - While Raven is fighting Terra, inside her own mind she is also fighting her demonic rage (like we see in episode 6), which as we know from that episode is extremely hard and distracting for her - in episode 6 Raven was alone for most of the fight, and even when BB and Cyborg got involved it was still all contained to an internal struggle - In aftershock she had to repeat that Battle, without Cyborg or BB's help and with Terra trying to kill her in the real world at the same time.

My theory with Herald’s portals is that there is a set size depending on the noise. I think that the sound wave rings have a limit based on how loud he blows the horn. Ex. Taking himself and Jericho through a portal would take less energy (less lung strain) than Malchior because the two are so much smaller. I don’t think he’s going to do much against Brushogun because his lungs have a limit. I do think he could get rid of some of the ink if he can suction some away, but I don’t think he can oneshot Brushogun. I really like these looser videos as well as scripted ones. Both have good vibes so I’m happy to watch whatever. I’m glad you made the TT videos because it led me here. Now I need to watch Utena so I can watch your other analyses.

When it comes to Robin I think one of his best examples of fighting against “stronger opponents” is when he fights the titans on top of Wayne tower, specifically Raven who is likely the most powerful. When engaging the entire team everyone including Robin is holding back but he presses every titan with speed and precision he usually keeps reserved. When Raven is in his way he becomes one of, if not the only character who deliberately pulls her hood down to disorient her. Its quick subtle and unexpected making it feel like something Batman would do prior to a K.O. punch and when red X does the same thing to Robin later with his mask it makes sense why there’s a Jason Todd reference on the white board in that later episode.

What I don’t like about Robin is that he can 1v1 Cinderblock and win. Not that he cannot win against him but the way he wins. He overpowers cinderblock and can melee him so easily to the point it becomes unbelievable. Like if you compare to Batman you don’t see him doing that with Bane or Killer Croc. Batman out maneuvers those villains and plays to there weaknesses. Like if Robin is shown to do that then I would not have a problem with him winning. Then yeah I would say he is properly ranked because smarts and willpower do matter in these rankings. But when he can overpower a villain that can take hits from Starfire and Cyborg you can’t help but think it’s plot armor

I love long Teen Titans videos like these because I listen to them while I'm doing my makeup or cleaning my room. All of these different and same points of view of analyzing the show that I love the most opens up a new way of seeing things and appreciating it even more, besides that we get to see more fans on this topic and discuss it all together. I love how contentious Robin is. I'm personally on the side of Robin being one of the strongest. I'd give Red X Robin credit, because at the very least it shows his ability to strategize and exploit weaknesses against extremely powerful opponents (at the same time I might add, who weren't holding back because they just thought he was some villian)

For Trigon v herald, I think Trigon displays the ability to create rifts in space. Likely, what would happen is herald attempts to portal Trigon, then Trigon looks at the portal trying to suck him in, and he just goes 'nah mate' and just tears it apart with his finger nail.

I agree with your placement of BeastBoy, which sucks because I have a MAJOR bias towards any characters with animal powers automatically just because I know the extent to which you can actually use those powers! He has so much potential!! Animals are INSANE and the things he could do with his power has endless possibilities- I could go on a rant right now about just all the different _poisonous_ animals he could use (Pufferfish, Poison Dart Frogs, Jellyfish!?). If BB was more tactical and less impulsive he could be a huge threat, I especially think animal abilities work extremely well in terms of recon and stealth work. But animal powers could work great applied to any field depending on how you use them! I’ve always been partial to communicating with animals as a superpower, but _shapeshifting_ into animals is a concept that has so much to it that the ability is just crazy! And I know that I’m being enthusiastic to say the least, especially considering it’s all what-if’s and maybes. But really that’s what I’m trying to get across, all of the what-if’s and maybes. With more self control, training and knowledge to the types of animals he can become, BB’s OP and could have everything it takes to be an awesome solo hero! Did any of that make sense? I wanted to include more animal examples like the “Man o War” *( would the man o war even work considering it’s just a bunch of little animals mashed into one? )* but I actually fear I would lose myself if I went and brought out the homemade animal encyclopedia. I hope you kind of got what I was trying to say at least! :)

For non serious BB I think he had it right. However we actually see this hypothetical BB you bring up, it’s whenever BB is serious. One on one he gave Slade a serious fight. With his beast form both Cyborg & Robin would be blitzed. The fly to whale trick would definitely crush Robin. BB’s ranking depends if you use his clown version or the serious one. Keep in mind the serious one actually scared Slade. The next time Slade tried to mess with BB he sent a robot instead of going in person… which was a wise choice.

Every time I hear someone say my name, it gets a chuckle out of me. And I honestly wasn't the person to come up with the term "Plot Induced Stupidity". It's a common term used when doing versus debates and powerscaling, something I've been doing for years as a hobby. That's part of the reason why I went on that massive tangent about Malchior being what triggered Raven's new form being unlocked chronologically. I get VERY invested into topic like this. Though I probably still gave Malchior a bit too much credit in regards to comparing him to Trigon. Also, considering how much effort Trigon needed to get to Earth in the first place, Herald's portals would straight up invalidate him and just send him back without a second glance. I am fully in the camp of "Herald is absolutely broken", and I genuinely think he should not have been in the show, as you suggested. It really causes every major villain after his introduction to be a plot hole, why couldn't Robin just tell Raven or Starfire to find Herald and have him portal every villain to an alien planet? Or another Dimension? Or a Black Hole? Edit: I would be down for either kind of topic. Though the one that REALLY stands out to me is the every episode ranking, it always brings about very in depth discussion. I'd just be glad to see more content in general because I have really enjoyed every video of yours that I've seen

I personally would put him either above or bellow Scath Slade depending on if Malchior can either find a way to separate Trigon's power from him or, failing that, seal him since he should know the curse/spell that sealed him. The reason I would put him so high is because I can honestly not see how any of the other villains can kill or incapacitate him. With how he is presented and defeated twice in the show, sealing/BFR, he might be unkillable to physical/convectional/non-magical means which would immediately eliminate every villain that isn't magical since they would eventually lose. This would include villains such as Red X, Slade, White Monster, Terra, Madame Rouge, and even Brother Blood because I seriously doubt that Malchior doesn't have mental protections. Even if someone is magical you seem to have to be ridiculously powerful to kill him as seen by White Raven sealing him, suggesting that she didn't think she could kill or incapacitate him. This means that the only ones who can defeat/kill Malchior without sealing or BFR are Trigon and maybe Scath Slade.

I personally think I went a tad bit too far, with my claim that it was his knowledge and teachings that made it possible for Raven to defeat Trigon in the first place. My evidence for that was that Chronologically, the first time Raven's White Raven form showed up in person was during Malichor's episode, as well as his statement that all of Raven's magic knowledge comes from his teachings. While I do still think that there's some legs for that idea to stand on, I don't think it's quite as solid as I did at the time. Raven learned her powers from Malchior, sure, but there's no reason to think she didn't surpass him by the time Trigon showed up. As of right now, I would definitely place him above Scath Slade, but below Trigon.

Hey! I don't usually comment very often, but your call for suggestions really sparked something within me. That being said, this is a HUGE idea, that will take (I imagine) a large amount of effort. But one I think might pay off well, both for the channel and for the community at large. The Ben 10 channel Ink Tank has a series called the "Ben 10 Breakdown", and although the resources we have as Teen Titans fans are likely not the same, I think an episode-by-episode review of the series might really keep people coming back to the show, and of course, the channel. Ranking characters based on strength is difficult especially with characters that don't have well defined powers or are seen very briefly. If judging by potential then Control Freak could be one of the strongest. Imagine Control Freak just watching something like Looney Toons and getting god like powers. He could watch DCAU and get powers of Darkseid or Mr. Mxyzptlk

Regarding Herald's portals, it depends on how they work, certain magical creatures can straight up no-sell certain types of portals and just treat them as a solid surface or intangible to just treat them as if they're not there.

Xiaolin Showdown would be interesting. I watched and rewatched that show many times while I was growing up, the nostalgia hit harder here than with young justice, which I watched last year, and dropped in the 6th epi. On Xiaolin Showdown, we could make 3 videos, ranking the good guys, the bad guys, and the Shen Gong Wu.

Robin was trained by Batman, so it's experience vs raw strength. Which makes all of the difference. That's like putting Day 1 Superman just learning his powers against a seasoned Batgirl that knows how to go about fighting.

I really like the herald’s visual design, and I don’t even hate the power necessarily. If anything, I wish it was balanced somehow by his personality. Something like Marvel’s Sentinel, a character who has basically unstoppable power but is limited by hesitance to use it. Maybe in this case, the herald considers a lot of fights beneath him and doesn’t want to get involved unless it’s serious, something like that. It would fit with a lot of the show’s themes about being a hero, contrast him against some of our heroes who don’t optimally use their powers but try their best to win. That’s just what comes to mind, since he feels like a self-serious type. I’d want to salvage him and still have him in the show, but I do agree with the analysis that he’s underdeveloped in terms of screentime and so we never get a good chance to explore his limits, and that results in him just feeling like a broken powerhouse. If he had more of a presence in even one more episode we could get a chance to see what his deal is.

Regarding the White Monster, the only thing holding him back is his intelligence or lack thereof. If it's a smart creature, then it's easily top tier, If it's more animalistic then it folds to any other villain that can confuse it and/or trap it. Arena fight? Then you're probably dead. Fight where you can prepare and strategize? Probably easy to take out. Regarding Brother Blood, he's easily top tier just for the mind control alone. He had a poor showing, but if he can mind control anyone basically, then he is at least as powerful as the last most powerful person they can mind control. Like sure he might die against the White Monster for example, but he can totally dominate a fight against anyone using someone like Starfire. (We can presume that Raven is tougher to mind control and/or use her powers than Starfire). Regarding Herald, I feel like he is more of a tech card in TCGs. Like sure his portals are OP and basically trivialize any fight, but they can also get gunked up by random mobs or just be too small to deal with big creatures. His ranking should be basically half of each. To give a similar example from Marvel Snap. Shang Chi is basically the most versatile tech cards. It kills everything with 9 or more power (basically any big bad), but he gets countered by random junk like having small guys or Armor (2 mana card). Depending on the meta Shang Chi is either in almost every deck or in almost none. This is Herald basically. He isn't rankable with the others because he still has plenty of weaknesses, but can defeat way tougher opponents.

I personally can see slade just having some sort of device inside his mask that would make him be able to resist brother bloods control and I don't have a hard time imagining slade keeping an eye on the leader of hive academy and having a counter to his powers

Powers and competence are two separate metrics, and competence triumphs every time generally speaking. Arguing for where to rank a powerset isn't the same as where to rank a character who owns that powerset. I will say that equating Robin to Batman is a bit of a stretch, though. Batman has infinite money funding his body armor and gadgets, whereas Robin's toys are only average at best. Batman, most of the time in his own show, at least, is also fighting much weaker opponents than Robin is.

As for Herald... I agree with you on most points. I personally like him as a concept; but I just wish that he had more depth so it wouldn't be so jarring. As for the viability of his portals? Anyone who can teleport counters him. Raven could probably just instantly reappear, and given that her powers come from Trigon... well, an unbound Trigon wouldn't really be bothered by Herald. Maybe inconvenienced, but that's it.

Having now had this video as a followup to the rankings and retrospective, it would be cool to see you do a speculative video about titans who didn't really reach their full potential in the show. You could really do this for the entire core five, although Starfire and Cyborg are pretty straightforward. I feel like a great deal of emphasis was put on Terra's potential as a world-ending force of nature, or speculation of her potential in general, but the same idea wasn't really applied to like, Beast Boy. Exploring the limits of life forms he could shapeshift into is kind of insane and fun; I've seen theories about him shifting into a Tamarenean or Kryptonian even. Another wild thing with him is because it's a kid's show, he never utilizes the deadlier aspects of his animals (TRex bite, poisonous snakes, etc).

I love longer videos. Usually i take long videos or podcasts or even stream vods from favorite streamers and go to sleep to them. Plus long videos make my shifts at work go alot faster

Right at the end there you got me wondering; how would things have gone differently if Trigon knew about Herald and tried to use him instead of Raven to make a portal for him ? My theory on the herald on his portals work is how hard he blows on his horn the bigger they get.Then if he went against the ink monster be could portal the monster away and a way to nerf herald is just give him asthma so he can’t spam the horn

Herald does seem kinda op tbh. Being able to create portals is pretty powerful. Plus I seems like the portals can sometimes suck in opponents, shown when he sucked Malchior into the portal. And then some portals don't have that, shown when they have to manually push the bomb into the portal instead of the portal sucking it out. Basically any character who can't teleport has the possibility of being defeated my Herald. And that doesn't make me feel good. Don't get me wrong, he's a cool character, but it's kinda crazy picturing the amount of other people he can get rid of by simply teleporting them to that weird dimension or space.

So I watched the two rankings videos, but didn’t sub until this video. It’s already respectable to come out and say “I stand by this” and “I might have been wrong about that”. But what I really respect is your enthusiasm about discussion. I have the problem of getting defensive, and if I saw some of those comments, I would think it’s argument time, but I really appreciate your restraint and ability to recognize conversation over criticism, and even just roll with the punches when someone laughs at your take. Definitely a fun topic. Although, I would like to point out that I wasn't trying to imply Herald didn't win, just that the particulars implied it probably wouldn't go quite that embarrassingly for Malchior in a more limited-combatant scenario and Herald probably isn't the best for general villain scaling since he's pulling up with the hero equivalent of a perish-trapper (to use a pokemon reference). Losing to him doesn't feel like a negative to me so much as winning against him is a positive.

I think Beast Boy's fly into whale is specifically because it's against Trigon. Normally that would kill someone, and out of everyone, he seems least likely to intentionally. (Though by accident I give it third because of the mass shifting, which it indeed is, as shown various times.) Because he's fighting Trigon specifically he's going all out, because Trigon has basically destroyed Earth already.

This was really cool to see you respond and break down people's comments! I enjoy hearing what you have to say and your in-depth analysis is very observant and well thought out. And on your comment about not having seen one punch man, I cannot recommend it highly enough! It is one of my favorite shows of all time and I think you would enjoy it. It has one of the most well thought out power scaling (ironic considering the main character is supposed to be able to defeat any enemy with one punch) I've seen in a while. I think just that aspect alone would be something you find very interesting. And the side characters alone could get their own spin off series and feel like main characters. Plus it is absolutely hilarious. Thanks again for making such quality content!

I recommend One Punch Man to anyone who likes Teen Titans. They are very different shows in many ways, but the subset of people who would like Teen Titans but not like One Punch Man must be very tiny. One Punch Man is something truly special.

I think Slade still would beat Brother blood if we go entirely off of the show and assuming these two characters would scuffle at some point. Slade would not go into this fight unprepared, he could easily uncover information about brother blood while brother blood would have difficulty doing that same. He's also shown to be skilled in robotics to the point he can make convincing robot versions of himself, even if they aren't physically as proficient as he is. Using these against brother blood and mixing it with his manipulative nature, I would not be surprised if he could convince brother blood that his mind control doesn't work on slade. That also said, I don't think it's 100% cut and dry, I could see a world where he expects this to work, only for Brother blood to double down and obsess over controlling slade just like he did against cyborg, there's possibility for it to go either way, I just think that given both of these characters have a tendency to plan ahead, the difference between who can plan against who plays a major role in the fight.

I think an explanation for why Raven doesn't simply throw enemies around with telekinesis could be because of how she puts part of her soul into whatever she controls like that, and it's weird or uncomfortable for her to do that against living creatures. Remember in the episode, I think it's called Overdrive where Cyborg first has the T Car, she explains she puts a little of her soul into whatever she controls. I'm rewatching the show and I can probably count on one hand the amount of times Raven uses telekinesis on a person. The first I think is in the Apprentice against Robin and the next is in the Prophecy against Slade. In episode Switched, when Starfire is in Raven's body, she uses telekinesis against Cyborg to stop him from falling on the puppets. Outside of those 3 instances, I think Raven mostly just uses telekinesis to move objects. There might be 1 or 2 other times Raven uses that power against a person but I can't remember it rn. So saying Raven *could* use that power and *win* fights isn't a good claim if you are keeping the characters personality in tact cuz clearly she doesn't like doing that. Also, I know you attributed Robin defeating the Titans as Red X as a feat of Red X, and that's valid. I would too cuz basically they are very similar. But if Robin was able to come up with those weapons in the first place, surely if he needed to fight any Titan and he felt he didn't have good enough weapons, he *could* create better weapons again. Robin is so strong because he's really good at strategic planning. I don't think Robin should get zero credit for making those weapons cuz clearly he did make them. Clearly Robin doesn't have an issue with making weapons that can be used against his friends if he felt like the end justified the means.

I absolutely hate lazy and thoughtless explanations like that tbh, it’s reasonable if you haven’t seen the show but with proper thought, ya realize the hardest she’s gonna slam him into something probably wouldn’t be equal to a punch from Starfire which iirc he took and bashed her away while she’s arguably at her most powerful if emotions make her stronger or weaker like in the BF/GF episode… so then he’s going to get up and survive then bomb her to keep her distracted and get close.

One Punch Man (aka Saitama) is a satire on anime and superhero tropes. So yes, he does basically instant win... whenever he tries. Half the time a fight gets drawn out either because he was content to see if there's the slightest chance of a challenge (to hope for some sort of challenge) or because he was busy trying to reach the villain without causing property damage. Saitama lacks a lot of mobility powers beyond his insane strength; he could run fast or jump far, but he doesn't usually see the need to do so - especially since it'd often break buildings to do it extensively. One Punch Man does have a single major weakness - that being his laziness in regards to stopping villains or monsters. That's kinda what the show revolves around - the idea that stopping bad guys would be kinda boring if it were so easy. So Saitama stops... trying, really. Which means that, sometimes, the villain or monster get away with more than they should've. There's even a character arc where an alternate timeline of Saitama learns this the hard way - where he didn't arrive on time. He eventually learns to punch the fabric of reality to time travel back... but he doesn't take his memories with him, so he instantly forgot about the ability and the failure. So the arc is more meant to show the readers more of OPM's power scale than anything. The show's selling point is as a comedy, as a retrospective, and as a sort of power fantasy. Despite the massive emphasis on satire and irony, Saitama is actually an astoundingly depressed character, kinda disassociated from the thrill of life - yet nonetheless, he is insanely powerful, and is able to appreciate the small things. Simple stuff like bargain day at the supermarket kinda ground Saitama into the present, and there's a lot of messages that could be taken from that.

This whole power ranking thing reminds me of the tennis fandom. As in, current world class tennis, the sport. People will go on about how many grand slams did a tennis player win, for how long they held their position in the ATP listings, their age and medical history at the time of a certain tournament, etc etc. They will talk about all that and much much more always discussing who is the better tennis player. So many metrics, so many bouts, it is all very complex, as it continues to unfold further. Point is people care who the better tennis player is, and it isn't so simple a question to decide. People like to discuss these things, because they like the game. I mean what sort of a fan are you if you can't talk at length about your fandom?
