Most of us younger guys owe our childhoods to this guy. What young man didn't get a nice shiny new Buck knife from dad for his birthday or christmas. That name will go hand in hand with some of my fondest memories growing up as a young boy scout and woodsman. Your heirlooms live on with the next generation!! Thanks for the memories Chuck, truly!

So well said, Freeman Longhunter. Your words capture the nostalgia, mystique, and legacy of what the brand means to me as well. Thanks for taking time to leave this comment.

Sad news, but you have a great knife there to remember him by. I have a Buck 302 with his signature engraved in the scale. I'm was most likely machine engraved, but cool to me all the same. RIP Chuck.

Indeed, Mark. Most of the knives that have his name engraved on them, he did himself at knife shows etc. So, you might have an authentic signature.

SugarcreekForge This one has the signature in the Dymondwood handle scale. I reckon it is a mass produced item, but who knows for sure.

What a poignant reminder of how time and tide wait for no man. I remember seeing this footage first along with the footage of when You and I met, which is hard to believe that's 3 years ago now. It was nice to hear him thank you for your prayers, and we know he is rejoicing with the Angels now. I continue to pray for you brother, and hope it's not too long before wee meet again. Knoxi

Thanks so much Knoxi. I really appreciate it. I felt the same way as you did when I watched the footage of us together in Northern Ireland. I found something the other day that I got for you and forgot to put in the mail. So... hopefully you will be seeing a package soon! All the best, Tim

That' a shame. The first quality outdoor knife I ever handled was my grandfathers Buck 102. My great grandfather had a very old 102 on his desk, my grandfather has a 102 on his, and my uncle now has my great grandfathers 102 on his desk. Not to mention my first good fixed blade I got over 5 years ago is a Buck NightHawk. He will be missed.

Thanks for sharing this Tim, he really seems like he was a very kind and genuine person, even just from the few seconds of footage shown. Sounds like you were both real blessings to eachother even though you said you didn't know "know" him, but we're all brothers (and sisters) and we are one spirit in the body of Christ. (1 Cor 6:17) Btw that's a sweet little knife ya got and it's very cool that you were able to see him one more time before his passing and also that he was able to sign it for ya . My prayers will be with his family. It's good ta see and hear ya brother! Gods grace be with you and your loved ones :)
