Great tutorial. One thing you left out is that nails have to be right size and shape as well for that full rest stroke.

Love this video. If you could make a corresponding video, about WHEN to use rest vs free stroke, that would be amazing 😊

@@eastvillageguitarmethoddd One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that in general most classical guitar players default to free stroke more or less about 70 to 80 percent percent of the time and then rest stroke about 20 to 30 percent more or less.

Why didn’t you show the rest and free stroke for the thumb?
@juanpabloguitarra6 ай бұрын
What I find difficult is placing the finger again for the next stroke. As you know if I place my nail first it gives a metallic, awful sound. But placing just the flesh still doesn't get me ready to pluck again. Should I just cut my nails a bit more?
@guitarcody96 ай бұрын
Yes, I know what you mean. I would say file them instead of cut, but it depends on how long they are. The general rule it to first touch the string with the flesh right where the nail meets the flesh, so that it can smoothly transition onto the nail and produce a good tone.

Bro is there a limit to how fast you can get with free hand stroke I mean do you have a examples of guitarists who are really fast with free hand stroke ? That also includes all finger combinations like I & A Or M & A ?
