Thank you Alex for this video. I've been waiting for you to say something about Restart. For me it was the most anticipated game of the year. Of course I'm already in.

I tried the Restart in Essen. It's a game with a lot of potential and a huge amount of replayability. You can definitely find something that suits you. I hope it goes even higher in the coming days because the guys at Teetotum really deserve it. I already have Age of Rome and from there I realized how much love they give to their games and how good support they have.

Excellent game

I loved the honesty in this review. As you talked about the multi use nature of the cards I could feel myself getting excited about that mechanic just hearing about it. It's a bummer to see that the rest of the game couldn't hold up the potential that system seemed to have. I think I'd still like to try this game out sometime but probably won't be looking to add it to my collection without a play first.

Not what I expected. Not sure it is for me. Those chain cards hopefully will be beautified

Is it me or is reviewing a game that is one year away from releasing so weird. We have kickstarter review overload. A full package is a finished game and not a game that can change through the kickstarter as it is not final. The need to be first has mostly a negative after taste for me as i can not take a review like this serious. If it was a preview thrn by all means go for it. But these reviews are not good for anyone viewing it. Am i wrong?
@TheJonesturtleАй бұрын
Yes, you are wrong because I find these reviews great over just a preview when it comes to deciding whether to back a crowd funded game
@camillelove5252Ай бұрын
Yep, you are wrong. Sorry this type of video is not your taste! It’s not about being first. It’s about helping people get a feel for a game they can’t feel out themselves and at the right time…which is during the crowdfunding campaign. These small publishers don’t always go to retail. So the video is literally only relevant right now.
@HALOX30Ай бұрын
@@camillelove5252 It is not clear if it is or is not going to retail. a small mention of that in the video would surely clearify if this should be a preview or a review. It has also nothing to do with my taste but with transparancy and potentialy protecting companies, specialy small companies. I am a bit biased as i like their earlier game Age of Rome and i want them (and other small companies) to do well. So as i don't know the details of kickstarter content being made, then it is valid for me to ask the question. I dont think i am wrong but i put it at the end to start a conversation. As words matter i wanted it to be a topic of conversation and not be mistaken for statement as i dont want it to look like i am pointing fingers.

You said "But these reviews are not good for anyone viewing it. Am i wrong?" Hopefully we count as "anyone" so yes, you are wrong 😂. As you said...words matter. Alex is one of a few reviewers that I've found that offers what I believe is an honest opinion. I don't like "previews" most of the time. Just replied...somewhat in humor...to make sure Alex knows there are plenty of viewers that have been subscribed for a loooong time because we treasure his "reviews". Maybe your critique is that it should be clearer that this game is currently crowdfunding in the title/description or early in the video....I don't know, I just don't agree with what you said

@@TheJonesturtle true, i see what you are saying. Thsnk you for the feedback i apreciate it. I think that when a game is on kickstarter we dont know how much they wil or can change. So some of the critiques may be valid or not. I looked through the comments and saw people already not interested in the campaign. Could be the valid critiques that Alex brought up but as he also said that things might change it made me have these questions and feelings about kickstarter reviews in general. It was a hot take but if in that hot take there was any way implied that Alex is not fair or honest in his reviews then that was not my intention. So sorry to Alex if it came off as that and thank you for putting that to my attention. My intention was just to start a conversation as my feelings towards kickstarter reviews has not really changed. But i keep an open mind as i dont know what was discussed between Teetotum and BoardgameCo. Maybe it is a pitfall or a risk of companies sending out a game and giving a green light for a review instead of just asking to make a preview. I think it is a double edge sword. It does keep the door open for input and improvement. I talked to the nice people of Teetotum at Essen Spiel and i have no doubt that they will make this game better and a succes. They canceled the kickstarter to improve the game as they had a lot of feedback from people. So in this situation seeing as the open nature of this company, review and feedback i was totally wrong. Still glad i can have a safe discussion here. Love the channel. Would love to have a video about kickstarter and early reviews. Interested in learning more.
