We also take cash so 100$ per couple would cover it, there's an ATM in the foyer.

That is just standard operating procedure for any event contract

How embarrassing for that event coordinator! My Mom lives in an "over 55" community and one of their main and easier get-togethers is a breakfast out that they do every other week or so. They have rules for what the restaurant must have or be willing to supply, and they have one contact person who is responsible for setting things up. If there is a mis-communication, they settle up and just don't go back - no muss or fuss. I made sure she and the other main organizers had a cash transfer app of some kind and knew how to use it. This sort of thing is frustrating for all sides. Still, you handled it well. Yes, the contact person who supposedly signed off on everything was a ditz and not very bright, in addition. They should have read through everything and/or talked it out with someone else. There should have been a system in place to either limit the menu to a couple of things, or that people would be keeping track of their own ticket. That's all on the contact person's head to discuss with you. That they didn't says lots about them. smh
@Stephaniecarlisle0529Ай бұрын
@@goldengryphon it’s pretty frustrating for all of us. We only do limited menus for parties of 24 or more. Or if there is less than 24 and the guests requests a limited menu. It’s not normally this big of a problem.

should have called the police and told them you have a customer refusing to pay.......

If your card will not carry the entire check, then pass the hat & tell your guests they owe money toward the check. Divide 80 into the entire check, then add at least 25% for gratuity, which would include the servers and the bar staff. America, stop being cheap when it comes to restaurant service!!

Unfortunately, people who DO sign contracts like this and I've seen it 100 times, they say, 'well, yeah we saw that but we thought you'd work with us and let us do it our way'..and THAT'S why we signed a contract. Why do people think signing a contract with a restaurant is not really a BINDING contract and can be amended at their whim?

@@tommyrobinetti7180 idk but it happens a lot. And they don’t even read it at all. They just sign it then mad at us later when we told them to it
