In this video I showed you how to make chana masala using dried chickpeas with tips and tricks on how to make the beans buttery soft. You can use the same technique while cooking any dried beans. This is a North Indian dish in which the chickpeas have this typical deep brown color which is obtained from tea leaves. You won't be getting any tea flavor when you eat it (I promise). You can even cook the beans without a pressure cooker on the stovetop but in that case it will take about an hour for them to get soft and you need to add more water while cooking the beans. 🎬 Related Videos - 🎬 Lentil and Bean Recipes - kzbin.info/aero/PLxgPEcdhkY4EAQUzhvXNs2eO6JGAqZV5C 🎬 Vegetarian & Vegan Recipes - kzbin.info/aero/PLxgPEcdhkY4HGC40CzrMe3Itzjr2-AwUt

Hi Bumbi, I've been addicted to watching your videos every day for the last couple of months. My girlfriend is Indian and her parents cook amazing curries, so I thought I'd get into cooking curries myself. Your recipes are so easy to follow, I've made about 5 of them so far that have all turned out perfectly and my grilfriend loves them! I plan on cooking this recipe this weekend and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Sometimes I wish I could take a picture and show you my results! You're an amazing teacher, so I just wanted to say thank you!!

@ - If I were to not use a pressure cooker (Because I don’t have one in my other home), how long do you think I should boil the chickpeas at Medium heat? Thanks!
@CurriesWithBumbiАй бұрын
It depends on the quality of beans. It takes 45 mins approx sometimes more.
@RoxyrollersBCАй бұрын
@ I guess because it’s on a stove, I can always check at 45 minutes and go from there. Would I be doing this on a Medium heat and covered?
@RoxyrollersBCАй бұрын
@ - I landed up doing a trial run! Took 45-50 minutes on medium heat.

It is the same method that you need to follow if cooking in a pot. The only difference is you will need to add more water if you see your beans have not turned soft but the water level has gone down and it will take more than an hour for the beans to get tender.
