I loved Coco's curry. I also enjoyed eating at the Dragon restaurant and the Salse (not sure of the spelling). I wish the McDonald's here had teriyaki burgers.

Hi Desiree! I'm enjoying your videos! I'm also half okinawan and American but grew up in Sc! I've only visited Okinawa one summer in high school! I would love to go back and take my husband and son! Thank you for sharing!

We were in Okinawa from '83 to '86. Our favorite restaurant was Surf Combers and I use to order the yakisoba. The restaurant had 3 stories, main floor was the restaurant, second floor was the club and the third a massage parlor. Later the owner remodeled and switched the second and third floor. I worked there for a short time. There other clubs on that street; club La Rosa, Club Zukerean, and the Golden Gate, the last two places I also worked at. I always wanted to get the recipe for the yakisoba but I figured the restaurants would keep it a secret lol. I wonder if your mom or older relatives have been there?

Hi! Sorry for just now getting back to you. I asked my family and others about it but they have not been there (because most have been stateside for a bit). I am intrigued to see what the area looks like now so next time I go back, I'll go take a look!

Thank you! I wonder if you had a chance to try any of the restaurants mentioned in the video during your time in Okinawa? I totally agree, Okinawa is such an amazing and beautiful place.

most of the ones I went to I can't remember the names....I used to eat at a place in Henoko....sushi bar...2-3 times a week called the Ocean... hospitality was awesome.. Do you live in Okinawa?
@AsianAngel326 жыл бұрын
I do not live in Okinawa anymore, sadly. It's still considered my "home" and I do go back every year. I'll have to see if Ocean is still around next time!
