Dieser alte Tisch ist typisch für das Wirtshausmobiliar im 19 Jahrhundert in Bayern. Diese Tisch sind nur noch selten zu finden und daher hatte sich auch die aufwendige und zeitraubende Arbeit gelohnt.
This old table is typical of tavern furniture in Bavaria in the 19th century. These tables are rare to find and therefore the complex and time-consuming work was ok for me to do.
この古いテーブルは、19 世紀バイエルン地方の典型的な宿屋の家具です。とても希少なので、複雑で時間のかかる修復作業をするだけの価値がありました。

Ich bewundere euren Einsatz und eure Arbeit für die / an den alten Möbeln. Während meiner Studentenzeit vor vielen, vielen Jahren konnte man mit etwas Glück derartige Stücke noch mal ab und zu auf dem Sperrmüll finden und dann entsprechend (mit den zur Verfügung stehenden Mitteln) wieder herrichten. Heute stehen aus dieser Zeit noch etliche Stücke hier bei mir, bzw. inzwischen bei meinen Kindern. Ich bin nie in Versuchung gekommen sie wegzugeben.

Great work as always. In regards to the finishing, I see some wormholes in the old wood, is there anything in particular mixed in with the stain or the oil to treat the infestation? I'd love to know how you like to preserve it from further damage. Preserving the past for future generations. Thank you so much for sharing your work. Much appreciated. Cheers

The wood or the furniture is placed in a heating chamber before it comes to us in the workshop. There the wood is heated to 60 degrees Celsius and held for half an hour. After the slow cooling, every parasite has died. The eggs of the parasites do not survive either. It is absolutely reliable and chemical-free.

Perhaps a moot question: how did you source/find/obtain such old wooden board which actually was in pretty good shape? I think it might have come from either a deserted building or piece of furniture or construction of the same period as the table. Greetings from 🇺🇲. Thank you for your interest. It was an old floorboard. The floor was 200 years old and I removed it from an old farmhouse. We are doing very well and I hope you too. I hope your husband is feeling better.
