Fitting the Atlas Throttle Lock on my Royal Enfield Meteor 350
How to, and how not to, fit the Atlas Throttle Lock; an alternative to Cruise Control. This is an absolute beginner's experience of fitting this device, there's some trial and a fair bit of error.

Without doubt electronic cruise control is great for long boring highway rides. I had it on my Tiger 800 and it worked as well as any car system. I have been using a simple throttle rocker attachment on my DRZ400, but it requires that I always have my palm placing press on it. This unit looks to be a viable alternative.

Good fun! 😀You *could* also use a shred of an old bicycle tube, wrap it between the grip and its adjacent piece on the handlebars, and tie it just as hard as it takes to keep the twist grip from returning. Or, even return slowly, if you prefer that. No need to switch it on or off. It just works. I've used that simple system for many years, and it's quite safe, simple - and cheap. ;-) Has helped me a lot on my longer trips.

@@PeterPan-iz1kk My late husband used to do the same! He used to use old motorcycle inner tubes; he would use sections cut from these for almost everything. If it moved and it shouldn't, it got the band-cut-from-an-inner-tube treatment. I've never had the nerve to try them on the throttle though, although now I've got an arthritic right thumb, it's starting to appeal more....

Top work there Charlie. On the actual fitment, could it be that the friction pad ought to have gone on the opposite side, i.e. the side nearest to the throttle? It looked to me like the way you assembled it you have it on the opposite side, where there wouldn't be any friction assuming the body stayed still on the bar, as you might assume it should?
