Hitler's Obsession: The Persecution of Jewish People and the Ramp-up to War

Күн бұрын

As Hitler ramps up the German war machine, he remains obsessed with one idea: uprooting Jews from the Reich. The Nazis embark on a campaign of totalitarian oppression against them, persecuting Jewish people in every aspect of life. They are excluded from most professions, forbidden from intermarrying, Jewish children are bullied and excluded from schools, all Jews have a “J” stamped in their passport, to name but a few measures. Worst of all, the brainwashing of the German people has become apparent, and many are willing participants in the various forms of persecution; plenty of German towns have put up signs by this point saying “Jews not wanted here”. Hitler may tone down the oppression to whitewash the 1936 Berlin Olympics, but this does not last. One terrifying truth is clear: he is fully set on the destruction of European Jewry.

Somehow sure - though, may I ask, what would you have done, had you been transported back in time to be a German in the year 1937 or 1941? Because that is always the question one has to answer for oneself: What would _you_ have done instead, when push comes to shove. I certainly ponder that question constantly.

Brecht was a Communist, so would have been in trouble anyway. A family friend told us her Dad (Breslau-Berlin-Teresienstadt-Auschwitz) expected to end his life on the Eastern Front. She herself told me her schoolfriends came to her and told her they weren't allowed to play with her anymore. Her brother walked the streets all night on Kristallnacht, not wanting to stay still and be found.

My german great grandmother, who was born in to a jewish family, became a catholic when she married a catholic. Her son was considered half jewish and was prevented from practising as dentist during the 30's. Later, he was sent to a work camp, which he was fortunate enough to have survived. Despite not being raised in the jewish religion, my father would have been caste as being a quarter jewish if the purity testing had continued. Luckily, he was never identified by the authorities because he was moved around to different family members during the war.

Talking about boycotts...it might have failed in Berlin or other large cities but destroyed small town Jewish businesses. Small town Jews left their homes and moved to large cities and became wards of Jewish charities. You might note that between 1933 an 1938 many countries tightened up their immigration policies to specifically limit Jews seeking to flee. And Victor Klemperer had actually converted to Christianity.

The British union of fascists were so popular weren’t they? The marches into the east end of London went so well for them in 1936 and so many people came out to support the fascists. Sadly they must have got a little confused and thought the black shirts were really Jews so they blocked their routes and attacked them? 😂 Maybe they mixed the BUF up with the police since there were more police than BUF supporters and the protesters outnumbered both the BUF blackshirts and police combined by such a large number?

@R08Tam
@R08Tam 21 күн бұрын
I drew two things from this: 1) we shouldn't kid ourselves that there wasn't anti-semitism in the UK back then. My Gran was born in the East End of London in 1905. One day her mother asked her why she had sixpence to spend. When my Nan told her that she had done some ironing for a Jewish lady because it was the Sabbath she got a slap for working for "those dirty Jews". 2) this is so reminiscent of the hatred dished out to the LGBT community in the 1980s by Thatcher when the AIDS crisis hit us. Right wing politicians love to pick on minorities in order to shore up their support. Plus cá change.
@Bantam1980
@Bantam1980 21 күн бұрын
I'm surprised that you don't reference Timothy Snyder at all. He wrote the seminal text on the Holocaust in the Ukraine. His take on Hitler is that he saw everything in terms of struggle between races over food. (which he saw as a finite). Hitler's antisemitism was derived from the notion that the Jews had "broken the rules" in this struggle by creating institutions that cut across racial lines (e.g. the law, the state, capitalism, communism) and got in the way of struggle. This was why, in Hitler's mind, Jews had to be eliminated. But it also important to note that the vast majority lived outside of Germany - in Poland, the Soviet Union, Hungary and Lithuania. The Nazis went about trying to destroy the state in those places in order to eliminate the Jews (according to Snyder). Read "Black Earth: The Holocaust as History and Warning".

It does rather smack of the self- incriminating statement that a copper might have slipped into witness statement. After all Hitler never made a good on this ambition as far as I know. There were no public hangings of Jews in Munich or elsewhere across Germany. The quote comes from a Conservative Catholic Magazine that was vehemently hostile to the Nazi party. There was intense debate in conservative circles about how close the Nazis should be embraced as a bulwark against the radical left and how dangerous that embrace might be. And in truth they were perhaps very well prescient about the Nazis true nature as the editor Trad Catholic Fritz Gerlich was eventually murdered during the Night of the Long Knives. But the quote itself seems to be rather too incriminating not to be considered with a great deal of scepticism.

There's the assumption that Jewishness is just some unimportant, arbitrary characteristic like being left handed. A more serious analysis would note that Jewish people in Weimar Germany as in many other places were heavily overrepresented in the professions but also in financial crime and Bolshevik agitation. They had a huge role in the Communist revolutions all over Eastern Europe and Germany at the end of the First World War. Even Winston Churchill noticed they tended to take an antagonistic viewpoint against any society they settled in.

More precisely, our understanding of the genome and population genetics shows that racial identities are a combination of learned behaviors (environment) and minor phenotypic differences. Is a Hebrew a religion ? Based on a faith ? How would a non religious person measure a tangible substance known as faith, religious faith ? Could you weigh faith ? Could you describe faith ? Well it looks like this ? And it smells like this ? And it sounds like this ? Let me inquire is faith an invisible belief liken to little children ? Nuff Said ? Sounds like a therapy session of some kind of like looking for Martians from Mars on Earth ? ! How do you locate such in a Christian religious nation such as Germany as a Reich State ? By the way someone physically looks ? What is the familiarity that such as a Mr. Hitler could say here look at this evidence right there see it in this way & or that ? That is what I am talking about ? ! Lastly would if the Hebrews you find are not anything but hypocrites ? ! Nuff Said ? !

Geez bro tell me you know nothing about geo and religious history, why don't you? The Jewish faith rejected the Messiah and are waiting for the anti-christ, this has isolated them from most other faiths such as Christians/Muslims. Jews are also very tribal in nature, tending not to criticize fellow jews and working within their ethnoreligious groups. (This is not to say all jews are on the same page, they have their factions but at the end of the day this is where their allegiance lies) They have promoted left-wing ideals such as LGBT and Marxism all throughout history. Jewish people pioneered the pornography industry all throughout history. They brought hardcore porn and degeneracy into Germany. The depression happened under Jewish banking. They were seen as bankrupting the country morally and financially. It's a repeating theme.

'How would a non religious person measure a tangible substance known as faith, religious faith?' The word 'faith' is simply another word for 'belief'. I regard to a non-religious 'measuring faith', I propose one measures the capacity of the religious to believe that which cannot be proven or disproven, to believe that which does not exist, or, put simply, whether or not the religious is gullible. /not sarcasm

The Branch of thinking A. Hitler seems to apply in his book when he discusses the people her doesn’t understand by way of their strange Clothing are the Hebrews as referred to as Jews ? The way he describes the Hebrews clothing. I understood from reading the Bible this is the instructions given by Yahweh to his prophet as the Hebrews were to fashion wardrobe in a specific way to wear in the Public arena. Mr. A. Hitler appears to not understand this reason as written in the Hebrew Scriptures . Again as A. Hitler had with Hebrews and money & banking ? Outside of Gossip of which I loathe and therefore I will not be subject to such vile thoughts. The idea of Hebrews joining & or entertaining money ? This money is but a key of Life therefore a proper accounting is necessary for all activities relating to the clear evident of every honest outcome of every participant in a legal ledger of money & or security & or architecture is as a craft as in building structures for a written description of the type & or method of the situation in question for the construction of such edifices . This gives those in management a reasonable location to find a well keep location of books & recorded diagrams should any repairs & or detailed explanations ever be necessary & needed to locate & or repair & replace for any type of change that would facilitate the care of all clients & especially the population of an entire Country & or Nation etc … The Hebrews do not tolerate idolatry as they are trained to avoid this nefarious sin within themselves! This is why they seek isolation from non-Hebrews . There are those less than the Standard of the Hebrew perfection. As is within any social system they are not responsible for their birth . Therefore under no logical venue are the Hebrews to be harmed because of their innocence etc… . The Hebrews live according to their life choices & motives and within non- Hebrew nations . They should attempt to reestablish their homes once again in the desert of the Persian like Waudi Oasis areas for Farmland as this maybe developed in their own preexisting middle eastern locality.

Just watch some interviews with people who decided to settle the West Bank, that will tell you more than any emotionally manipulative NYT article about how Israel is good for America's urban youth or whatever

The Unoted States being a country of religious refugees, has always had a place for those exiled for their faith. Long before their was an Israel, there was the city on a hill. The New Jerusalem. We have the largest population of Jews on earth even larger than on Israel. While the Roosevelt administration didnt show oir best face during the wqr, nor the legislature or Supreme Court, I think the incredulity concerning the holocaust struck everyone. Even American Jews had a hard time believing it until our guys walked into Dachau. You cant be a c p untry with a founding document like the declaration of independence, which invokes a covenant with The Lord, and keep out the Jews ...Gods people. I think Britains also and the whole Anglosphere in general has had a better policy towards jewish people since the English Civil War and this even has rubbed off on English speaking Catholics and spread to Catholics in general so that all Christians in our part of The West find antisemitism completely incompatible with our societies. I believe a big part of Germanies failure in the second world war was excising such an educated and professional segment of society. It certainly slowed their nucleqr program enough to give the Anglosphere an edge.

In similar manner, I recall the Jewish c45u4lt135 being calculated to 13M. The calculus was then adjusted to 6M. The calculus was again adjusted to 1.3M. The calculus has since been adjusted to 6M, while others still claim 13M. In the end, the number is rendered irrelevant when contrasted to the act. I would draw a distinction between the industrial level of fixation and dedication the Nazis put into the genocide of Jewish peoples and their slaughter of other eastern enemies, be they Poles or Russians or Yugoslavs. Yes, those slaughters involved beliefs that their Slavic enemies were inferiors: yes those slaughters were terrible and merciless: but, no, those slaughters lacked the deep ideology and fiendish dedication to genocide that was meted out to the Jews
