I like the way its turning out Dan. The new tunnel that looks stock will definitely be better that what you had in there.

Looking good. That's pretty cool that they make that spring-loaded lock out. Number 1 that will fit better and number 2 it's weight reduction, LOL

Lol, nice one. I never thought about the weight savings. I'll take it!

On mine I cut about appx. 2 in up from the bottom all the way around up and past firewall lifted it about 2 ins taped it it out a little all the way around out as well as hump piece a little to give some side room then welded tacked pieces of sheet medal in four or five places to hold it level. put appx.2 in piece's all the way around bottom it fabricating piece by piece as I went along on shaping it looks original after grinding off wields. its just the original piece about 2 in or so taller.

Bead rolling to match what is already going on will really help it look more correct and not catch the eye by looking different. Of course all this will only get "seen" by us and anybody that might be under your car ! Still, great work and attention to detail is always very cool.

Definitely a lot of extra work for the few people that will ever see it.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I need to do the same thing and have looked at what DSE had done on some of their projects. Not sure if I will build the custom trans support or not.

I'm always browsing through the DSE projects. They have a lot of great ideas. I wish they sold tunnels for the T56 in the second gens and even some of the different firewall filler panels.

@@RestoCar The show some great fab work. I purchased their filler panel a month or so ago and am a bit disappointed with the cutout they did for the fender support. It doesn't fit worth a crap. Wish they hadn't done one as it would have been easier to custom cut the hole to match my firewall fender mount.
