I have ridden in this car, the builder had built it he brought it down to one of our 914 events in Medford , Or. and he gave me a ride and opened it up, very impressive great build.

My dad had a big bore 2.2 914 and would take my brother and I out once in a while. I was younger and sat on the wide centre armrest. That car gave me the bug for performance cars which i still nurture today at 61 yrs old. I have (since new) a completely modified 1984 VW Rabbit GTI (sleeper)

Griot: Say it with me: Fooks. It's not fyuke, it is fooks. Never say feeyuke. You don't even need a singular version. Just say fooks. I know it's confusing because it is spelled Fuchs. 😆 Great car. It was fun seeing it at WCR in Oregon years ago. Great people built it. When I say dog food, I only mean a nod to the business that afforded this beauty. I wish it was a treasure they wanted to keep forever. But amazing car in the hands of Canepa now, who are awesome caretakers of epic cars.

i still have my ‘75 914 2.0L. she sits in a stable at my mom n dad’s country home. i have a ‘75 911s 3.2L conversion, but the 914 has a softer place in my heart. 914 was my 1st car, so when i see the featured 914 here, it ignites something inside of me. many think that stock 914s are ugly....and i can understand why, but i have held on to mine & now have this black one stored for inspiration of what my little 2.0L could be. thank you for featuring this, but it’s upsetting because my wallet is quivering & starting to sweat.

I’m not usually a fan of black cars with black wheels. The one great exception is the 914 and this is the best 914 I’ve ever seen. Just beautiful.

Wonderful build. Absolutely gorgeous. If I had to change one thing, maybe a little less sway bar. It's already low, light, mid-engined and wide-tired. Unless you're an F1 or LMP driver, you're not going to be able to confidently corner this thing at 8 or 9/10ths with a super stiff sway bar. Better to give yourself a margin where you can feel the weight shifting an inch or so in your butt and hear a bit of squeal in the tires before it lets go, than to be 100% rigid until you snap into an unrecoverable spin.

Not a fan of the murdered out look. However the paint looks flawless, the car looks amazing. The 914 has been my dream car since I was 16. Would love a real 914/6 but this car is probably a lot more fun to drive. Will send you an email to get more details on the build.

As someone who is 6’5”, I’ve owned 4 of these. I know they appear very small but they have an unreal amount of head and leg room inside. Many very tall guys own them. Sir in one and see for yourself.

The car was built in the Portland, OR area by a gentleman named Toby. He enjoyed the car before it found its way to Canepa Motorsport for some fine tuning. The list of contributors is much longer. Feel free to email social@griotsgarage.com for some article links and more info.

Love to know more about this, exactly where did they take 2inches out, by chopping the top?
@GriotsGarage5 жыл бұрын
The support structures were cut by two inches and the roof, which previously was a composite T-Top or removable style was fixed and made from steel. No other body or frame modifications were made to accommodate for the structural height change. Suspension is a different story...
