Restorating a Refrigerator Compressor Almost Junked!!!

Good work. But this is how I make it: After disassembling the compressor I also clean with petrol/gasoline then clean both intake and output valves. After changing both gasket,I dry it using an electric oven with a temperature high enough to remove the any moisture and explosive gasoline vapor for 15 minutes. After that I tightened the four valve cover retaining bolt for the second time . I also retest the open compressor for the second time,this ensure the compressor rotor is in the right position as we all know metal expand when heated. This procedure is very important as a repaired compressor can operate normally when cold but fail to start when hot due the rotor touching the stator. Tightening for the second time ensure the gasket is "hot" compressed to remove any possibility of a weak pump just after welding the compressor.

@@feysalsiraj5683 you weld it first,then check for any leakage by pressurizing with high pressure R22 refrigerant using soapy water or immersing it in water while the compressor is at high pressure,just as you look for a puncture in the vehicle tyre inner tube when repairing a puncture. Remember to seal the two outlet and inlet pipes of the compressor . The leak checking pressure in introduced using a charging valve attached to compressor intake pipe. After satisfactory welding the compressor, you oil the now sealed compressor by using an oil can through the intake side of the compressor-the other intake pipe of the same compressor must be open to let air out.,the amount of oil depends on the the size of the compressor. Small compressor uses 250 -300 cc (small Coca Cola bottle size ). The compressor is reattached to the refrigerator and gas recharged. It can also be vacuumed sealed for later use.
