I had one of these when I was three and we moved to Johannesburg, SA. I was playing with it in the driveway and one of my dad's friends came over to the house. He was a real bastard. He aimed for my jeep and ran over it with his car. I distinctly remember watching him looking right at it and then crushing it.

Hi Annette, its great seeing you again and I hope you have been well. The last few trucks I have purchased off Ebay. Usually if I find a super rusty one I try to make sure I get it. I am going to try to throw that into the videos from now on if I can. lol yeah the sanding was A LOT >< I don't think I have spent that much time sanding on a car ever. I am really happy you liked the color. I was so happy to hear that you thought it went well with the 70's decals because that is the one reason I got the color. I couldn't find a color that fit well with the decals until I stumbled on the hot rod orange. Ohhh yeah, the interior on the original piece was very brittle and was cracking in my hands. Hi Pops Smith, this was by far the rustiest restoration yet. When I got the truck I thought it would just be surface rust but I was very wrong. A lot of sanding which me 3 days maybe closer to 4 but it was worth it. I am glad you liked it :) - R&R

If you just used a drill on the rivets you'd do less damage to the metal.
@RestoreandRepair4 жыл бұрын
Hi John, thank you for your comment. You are right, using a drill would be better. Behind the scenes my drill was actually not working. I was able to get it up and running a few times. That is why you see at the end of the video a new drill. The dremel looks like its doing really bad damage to the truck but its an illusion. The contrast between the metal and rust makes it look super bad. Anyways, I really appreciate you taking the time to write to me as well as watch my video. I hope you are staying safe and healthy. God bless and take care my friend. - R&R

you can use an epoxy primer to fill in those imperfections or use glaze coat we use that for body work on the big cars and trucks, just saying it would help cut down on sanding time and make it easier to work with
