Looking better all the time. I used some kerosene to flush out my oil tank because it is not as flammable/explosive as gasoline so safer to work with. I'm getting excited to see that bike running. I'm sure you are too.

Thanks Scott. Yes, I'm getting excited. There's still a bit to do so I need to get my skates on if I'm to take it to Corvallis in May!!

Thank you Darlene. Hopefully if and when I get the Rapide on the road I'll bring the Triumph off the bench and take a few rides! I miss it!

That was some pretty thick sludge that came out of the oil feed, I find that hot paraffin with a few 1/2" nuts, loosens the crud very well, you would be surprised what comes out, all kind of bits like biro tops coins and a lot of unusual things that have ben dropped in there

I have been in love with Vincents since I was a kid. Being in india the RE is the only option left. I am hopeful now that the twins are launched and we also have the carberry v twin kit available. Can you please explain as to how the emission certificates are achieved for such rebuilds / egli Vincents ? Thanks.

Hi and thanks for your note. Fortunately, motorcycles are exempt from emissions testing here in Oregon, USA!

Mi Ty well, that's cool. I guess there must be some workarounds available at other places. Thanks for the prompt reply.

Thank you so much for these videos! I’m a Comet owner (as I believe you are as well, from your other videos). One question-did you use any silicone-based or other type of sealant when attaching the carbs to the brass manifolds? Or did you simply rely on a good socket wrench.
@TheMightyGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, thanks a lot for your comment. I don't use any sealer for the carbs. As you say, I just clamp them on. It's quite a tight fit anyway. Good luck with your Comet! I must get mine back on the road again soon. It became a donor bike for the Rapide, but only just a few things, not vital organs! I used the mudguards, seat and tank but should really get them back on the Comet and ride it before the end of the summer. Best wishes, Mike
