Beautiful clock. You should rename the video to have Alexander Fleig in the title. I have a After the Hunt, Hunters cuckoo clock by them. I love it. It is my biggest cuckoo clock.

Another excellent video. It seems like the tricky part with this restoration was reassembling and adjusting the movement, which is what most of the video was about. That takes a delicate touch to pop out the quail side warning wheel to reposition it without having anything else pop out, and then having to do the same on the cuckoo side. Nice work and a beatiful looking and sounding clock.

Thanks for the video, I'd stripped and rebuilt my quail, cuckoo not knowing why it would not stop cuckooing, approx 45mins into your video had the answer, the pin that drops into the count wheel was less than 1/2mm out of align, so bent it out a fraction and now cuckooing perfectly, thanks for the video

Great video. I am working on a similar Sears quail for a friend. Likely a similar movement. (Marked Sears but was made in Germany.). This will be very helpful in setting the timing of everything back up. Thanks!!

How did you get your chains so clean and shiny?

Clock cleaning fluid and “0000” grade steel wool.

The gong is not for everybody 🙂

For me, the gong is what makes or breaks my impression of a clock. It can be the nicest-looking thing you could imagine, but if the gong doesn't have the timbre I'm looking for, I look elsewhere. This is an example of a clock whose gongs are absolutely perfect.

Is that an early Beha on the wall next to the Fleig ?

It is a wood plate movement but I don’t think it’s a Beha.
