I find it extremely helpful that you print all the part names.

Thanks! I am glad you find it useful. I have a video coming out in a few hours that will also be the first time I’m narrating what I’m doing. Hopefully that is more enjoyable than reading text at the bottom

The setting gear must be placed with the flat side up, not down as you placed it, if I noticed right.

The lyre spring can be held against the edge of the opening in a vertical positing using a dab of Rodico acting as a hinge of sorts… the. You can tweeze it into its slot. Thanks for posting I enjoyed the work!

I appreciate the advice!
@rustydog1236 Жыл бұрын
You have to use WIDE tweezers for the incabloc springs. You cannot properly grip them with the pointy ones. Also, when you're removing the jewels from the incablocs to clean them, don't use the pointed tweezers, you can snap them across the room like springs and you'll never find them as they are nonmagnetic. Clean the jewels in one dip after peg wood.

Use a plastic bag piece over the Inca block c spring clamp when unclipping each leg and remove jewel without it coming out the back. Re installing it can be challenging

what’s your go-to watch parts cleaning method? I have seen you use an ultrasonic cleaner but what is your procedure using this machine along with the cleaning solutions you use?
@csspinner Жыл бұрын
Hi Patrik, when I first started I used nothing but brushes, peg wood and naphtha (lighter fluid) to clean Watch plates and components. I eventually started using the ultrasonic with L&R fluids and got better results. I used that method for a really long time with great results. And I’d still use it if I didn’t find a great deal on the cleaning machine that you see in the later videos
@patrikofficial4886 Жыл бұрын
@@csspinner oh, thanks for your information. Is #111 watch cleaner and 99% isopropyl alcohol sufficient to get great cleaning results?
@csspinner Жыл бұрын
@@patrikofficial4886 99% alcohol is what I used before I got the #3 rinse. It works fine, just don’t use it on parts that have shellac (pallet fork, balance), because alcohol will melt it
@patrikofficial4886 Жыл бұрын
@@csspinner Yeah, I know about the cautions of using alcohol to clean the pallet fork and balance. Thanks, again :)

Leave a comment if you have a better way to work on these springs... I have seen others use Rodico to sort of "corral" the spring so it either holds it down or at least limits the direction it can shoot out.
@microprophet882211 ай бұрын
It‘s very simple: the cap jewel springs are a nightmare… especially on this caliber, because it‘s not protected against falling out… you have no idea how many of them I lost in my lifetime… the only thing you can do is to work veeeeeeery cautiously…
