Marshall I have a Seiko I would like for you to service. It’s a 4006 bell matic bought in 1969 in Japan as a gift to me from my brother. It is running and all original except for the crystal replaced in the 70’s. I’m 80 yrs old and want to get it serviced so I can give it to one of my sons or grandson. This is special watch for me and I don’t want to send to Seiko since I’ve seen only bad reviews. You’re one of the best craftsmen I’ve seen on KZbin and really want you to service the watch.

Shut Up and Play the Hits is one of my absolute favourite films, and the voiceover ofJames nervously saying to the crowd "I hope it's OK, I'm wearing- I'm wearing my dad's watch" right before the band launches into their last song has always stuck with me, so when I heard you say "James Murphy" my immediate thought was "wait, surely not *that* James Murphy?", and then when you confirmed, I could barely believe it. Hearing the full backstory of the watch makes me want to see the movie again.

From watching you and Nekkid Watchmaker and others it’s finally clicking in my mind and now I can name all the parts in a standard automatic watch like a Seiko or a Rolex. Thank you, I didn’t think I would ever be able to ever learn how a watch works let alone name all the parts. It’s actually fun to watch silent videos and name all the parts the watch maker removes and installs. I think I wan’t to start piecing together tools and an ultrasonic cleaner to work on my Bruce Lee watch and maybe make a hobby out of it. I honestly did not think I would ever figure out watches but people like you made it happen. Thank you.

I’ve been amazed with watchmaking ever since I saw you restore a Seiko 6105 just like one I bought at the Base Exchange in 1976. Now I watch every video you put out and many others that come across my KZbin account.

It's a blessing in disguise to get a watch with lots of issues. That's how you learn. Then people will trust you with their time pieces. Great work!

i learned a lot from you, i started january of this year, and last month i did my 3rd and final rolex movement, which is my goal for starting watchmaking, to service my own watches... now i have to find watches to service

I love how you master one of the most complex and complicated professions in life and call it a hobby. WOW 😮. I’m flat out changing the batteries in the tv remote.

I own the date version of this movement and learned more about this watch from your video than during all my years of ownership. You make it look easy. Well done!

Thank you Marshall for your videos. The work you do is awesome and the encouragement for others to persue this craft and hobby is humbling. Personally I would love to do this but watching others work is one thing but on the other I have an attention disorder where I can"t even read a paragraph one time. But you do great work and your manner of teaching and voice is top shelf,,,thanks

“Like any good hobby, it can be frustrating!” This cracks me up. Isn’t a hobby supposed to be relaxing? Lol You definitely speak the truth! I’m just starting out and I definitely love it but I do have periods of frustration! I guess that’s what keeps me going as I’m hoping one day those periods will be fewer and farther between! Love your content. You are the reason I’m getting started. Thank you! I think! lol

I love watching these, they are somehow relaxing to have in the background and your voice is great for them. I don't have many watches but I love the ones I do and they're all Swiss or Japanese made. I also love all the comments that go: "I hate watches, detest them, if I see another watch I am going to burn my house down... but I love your channel!"
