Really enjoyed that one I have 3 vintage chronographs with that Landeron engine... so it was interesting to see the movement stripped down... Fortunately my chronographs run well... It amazes me how these movements where manufactured in the 1940s/1950s without all the sophisticated cad and cnc equipment watch manufacturers have today truly amazing it's just wonderful to see these beautiful vintage watches given a new lease of life.... Your vidios are amazing how on earth you can strip down movements and reassemble them is beyond me.... Absolutely amazing... Thank you 👍

Hi Bruce.. I agree that the popularity of these chronographs is on the rise. I think the market is responding accordingly as prices are on the up. In this instance the money is at least following something of genuine value I think. These chronograph movements of the 1930s onwards are often pretty special. Thanks again. Richard

We were taught to roughly calculate distance from which a sniper was shooting at us by counting seconds from muzzle flash to report...or worse, in the absence of muzzle flash we could estimate range by calculating the time when we could see/hear a bullet hit near us to the time the sound gets to us. Keeping your cool under those conditions is the problem. Quick maffs.

That was a great video, especially the timing functionality was nicely explained. I would chill to this if it wouldn't remind me of a soldering job I did for the last two days. I found out that my eyes can't focus through my glasses anymore and I have to put them onto my forehead. I'm getting old I guess. My colleagues fortunately only designed a few 0402 parts and QFN cases with generously elongated solder pads in so it was manageable. Its reading glasses for me in the future I guess.

Hi kti... Without my glasses I could barely find the door to my workshop and without the loupe I would never be able to work on a watch. I guess embracing the leverage good optics bring is maybe not a bad thing. Good luck with it whatever and thanks for the interesting comment. Richard

I didn't see you checking the pivots the balance wheel and the escapement wheel.. both were stuck on into the Jewels. Was the bottom pivot on the balance shaft in a good condition? Because this basic Landeron caliber has been running for more than 70 years. I had these old guys completely worned out on my workbench. I always lubricate the heartweels on the brim. I only saw you lubricate the pallets of the escape fork,, but seeing how you did the job on this video your customer will be very pleased when hé sees the second hand is running over the face. Last but not least you gave this watch new power with a modern main spring.

I watch a lot of watchmakers channels and find yours to be one of the best. The watchmakers story and commentary make the videos what they are but I've had a thought I wanted to share with you. What if you watchmakers wanted to spice up the content occasionally..... Maybe a video where you are limited by a poll that subs fill out that only allows you 3 or some limited number of tools to complete the service or repair? Or maybe you partner with another youtuber and work on the same watch and see who can complete a service the fastest with good results? Just a thought and either way I'll continue to enjoy your work and more importantly THANK YOU for your service.
