Very nice! My toolbox is not as old but it needs a new coat of paint. Thanks for posting.

This is great. I’ve just been gifted an old Craftsman toolbox and I have a nice design idea for finishing it and now I know how to get there! 😃👏

This is identical to my daddy’s toolbox. I’ve had it in my garage for several years not knowing what to do with it and today, cleaning out the garage, I decided to restore. My dad was meticulous about his things so it’s not dented. He did have a 1/2 of an old fashioned clothes pin tied by a string that slid through the locking latch. That will stay. His is probably closer to 60 years old.

So I figured out one of the most useful things I used in Restorations by watching the Cooking Channel's. Watching your video I think you may help you as well. When they want to get a marinade into a piece of meat and you don't have a lot of time what they do is put it in a vacuum sealer bag. He said that it sucks all the juices and stuff into the voids in the meet by creating a vacuum. When the lightbulb clicked it's been an amazing thing for me you can get the kind that you put a Shop-Vac on its Walmarts for like $10 for three or four big sizes big enough to do boxers like that. It really takes a minimal amount of material because it sucks all the air out she's a material actually sticks to whatever you're trying to get it to all the way around all sides. I've even used it on a paint sprayer that was locked up I sucked paint thinner up into the machine that way. I have a smaller vacuum sealer you can maybe do 12in by 12in bags which is great for small stuff cuz that one really does create a hundred percent vacuum. The ones that are made for blankets and stuff it does good enough but it doesn't get 100% of the year out all the time but it's certainly good enough. I just noticed you were flipping that box any plastic tote trying to get one side of the time as you could get eliminate all that for you

That looks terrific young man. It resembles an old toolbox I once saw in New Jersey. I think it was down near Cape May. Right off of Route #9.

Thank you for this video. You did alot of work but it was so worth it because the tool box looks great. I have a few toolboxes that were my fathers and they look like the way yours did when you started. I hope one day I can't started on mine because you've inspired me to get back at them.

dude, you're fun to watch so far . . . half 'holy fuck kid what are you doin' half that's pretty cool youngster nice job . . . keep at it find some of us old guys that aren't all "GET OFF MY LAWN" and hang out with them, pick their brains, get them in the shop and look at their tools and methods then you can apply modern techniques and practices to what you got from the old dogs who refuse to learn new tricks :) you can make a CRAP ton of money with work based in and around the trades and support services. . . it's hard, honest work with immense flexibility that is a great hobby or profession and teaches everyone skills we should all have :) also very satisfying to look at something and say "i did that" or even better sell something :) i still remember the first time i saw something i made in the hands of someone i did not know, then heard the story of how it came to be in their possession, what they paid for it and how they valued it . . . completely awesome and it was a DIY project piece i made for myself that someone bought off me a decade earlier . . . same with restorations and feature projects (landscaping, exterior/interior stuff) it touches that 'legacy' bone in me any how, show my kids and grand kids "pops built that" . . . :)

For being smart and resourceful, not that much of a stretch to use some cardboard from an amazon box or something to spray on top of so you dont spray or kill grass.....
