That is wonderful that you have the opportunity to bring your great grandpas tractor back to order. I bought an 8N off my neighbor. We drug it out of his barn with a bobcat. Then drug it to my house. He said it hadn't run in 20 years. I felt great when I got it running. It is so satisfying saving these old machines.

Saving tool and machinery like this is one of the most rewarding and uplifting things I have the privilege of doing! Someone put effort in not only designing this equipment to be as-good-as possible, but others along the way made memories with it that stretch far deeper than the chipping paint and rust. I hope I can save many more pieces of vintage equipment to show my thanks for the people of the past that made my present possible. Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey my friend!

Like watching DB restoration videos. I own a David Brown my self. It's a 1965 DB880 selectamatic. I bought it 10 years ago. A few thousand dollars later, I would never get red of it. Like the 990, the 3 cylinder engine of the 880 has a particular sound I'm never tired to listen too. Keep on your good work.

I wouldn’t believe most Americans didn’t realise that David Brown also owned the Aston Martin executive and Le Mans formula one race team which was Hugly successful in building race and private cars in the uk at Newport Pagnall near London 🇬🇧🇮🇪.

All the us spec 990,s were equipped with all the extras as standard the uk farmers were too miserable to pay for like power steering and double acting remote valves the tractor looks in good condition compared to most I see here good luck remember and keep everything spotless clean if your doing the hydraulics good job

I was wondering why it was so hard to find examples of power steering equipped tractors! Thank you for the information my friend!! I've got all the seals I need to re-do the power steering hydraulics now so expect a video within the next couple weeks about that! I'll be sure to keep it ultra-clean so the repair lasts! Thank you again for watching!!

If you mix oil and deisel in a pressure spray bottle you can spray it into all the crevices and protect a lot more than just wiping it down with a oily rag

your doing a real good job there, how do you pressure wash without getting wet, I always get hit right in the face with back wash.

The video makes my 'safety-squints' hard to see friend! Mostly, the only advice I could give is never hit a surface straight on, keep an angle that is at lease somewhat pointing to the ground and roughly 70° from the surface being washed. That at least helps me when washing off hard-to-remove buildup without soaking myself! Thank you so much for watching!

Awesome I love these old tractors we have a 1210 case David brown and also our great grandfathers case David brown 995 what is the difference between the Selecto speed mine are gear driven
@RamblingRam
@RamblingRam Жыл бұрын
Selecta-matic was an addition that linked the 3-point hitch to the gears in the rear differential. It's pretty well an adjustable limited slip differential that has more connection between the wheels as the control lever is lowered. Plow all the way in the ground = 100% locked differential and vice-versa! Super interesting stuff and some of the commercials are still on KZbin if you look up "David Brown Selectamatic"!
