Restoration Rusty Knife What Is This?

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new knife restoration project. I'm tried to find information about this knife. I'm not sure where are from knife and for what is it. Isn't cleaver or classic knife or bayonet knife, but maybe its old version of bayonet knifes? If you have some idea, please leave a comment. Thank you in advance and lets start restoration.
As usual, I use my "favorite" method via rust remover liquid, the washing, drying and oiling. To correction shape and cutting edge I used a sanding machine. Also, I used sand papers from 40-500 grit. I left corrosion effect on the blade, because if I will remove it, I will get shine simple piece of steel.
I made a mixed knife handle. The guard is made of stainless steel, the main part is a mountain goat horn, inserts made of leather and deer antlers. The back is made of duralumin aluminum. The scabbard and spacers were made of leather. And of course, as usual, I made an interesting and delicious test for you.
Recipe of dish:
Ingredients: Pork, onion, potato, salt, pepper, sour cream, mayonnaise.
Cut the pork into small pieces and chop it off. Cut the potatoes into round slices. Fry the onion beforehand. Put the pork on a baking sheet, pour sour cream and mayonnaise, fried onions on top, then potatoes and grease everything with mayonnaise and sour cream. The cooking time is 75 minutes, 10 minutes before cooking, sprinkle everything with cheese.

I think this knife used to be a bayonet. Great work! Edit: I found it - it's a Russian Winchester 1895 bayonet. Someone shortened it and simplified the handle, but the shape and lenght of the fuller still make it recognizable.

Интересная работа. Похоже что изначально это был переделанный лагерный тесак. Одно "замечание"- радиус скругления гарды должен быть не менее 1,5диаметра указательного пальца, тогда рука не пострадает. Та гарда которую сделали Вы- это катастрофа для рук!

Я из половины дисковой пилы сделал достайный кукри. Закалка там - довольно низкая, но точить придется мне, а форма там опитимальная. Кукри это даже 36 по Роквеллу нормально. В общем, век живи - век учись.

Не, почему же? Как защита, она как раз хорошо будет функционировать, а если кто то и долбанет в итоге, то травмы не должно быть - рукоятка очень ухватистая. Вообще то такой длинномер стоит хороших 150-200€, и это без ножен и заточки, из 65г. Так что тут свой смысл имеется. Я как раз видел такую гарду в действии, с обратным закрутом - это вполне приемлемо. Я не адвокат, но тут я понимаю, что мастер задумао. Я сам их делаю, и многие мастера меня знают. Лютый, Щербаков, Уддос, Теу, Ковбой, Донаван - у каждого из них за спиной Вьетнам, а дома по 8-9 тысяч клинков!! Вот это - уже ЕСТЬ, НА ЧТО СМОТРЕТЬ!! 👍 Лютый в основном на заказ делает. Но мы не делим пополам планету. Все мы - братья по оружию!👍😎

@Wayne Flanigan the end of the handle is cut off. It could have been a bayonet that’s was altered before this gentleman restored it. My feelings are that it was an altered bayonet before this gentleman acquired it.

I agree that it's probably a type of bayonet. The wear on the bottom edge of the blade is common on bayonets (I wonder why🤔?). I have one that has similar wear. Anyway, your dagger design does it justice 😄👍👏

I have a US Remington M1917 bayonet from WWI and it's longer than this. Probably WWI as bayonets were longer and could also be used as swords

Скорее всего да, это какой то штык. Такие после 40х годов часто оседали в деревнях и владельцы особо их не жалели и использовали для всяких грубых работ - забой скота, колка лучины для растопки, что то оторвать, поддеть как ломом. Отсюда и состояние. Спасибо за видео, отличная работа.

My opinion, you have an old surplus bayonet that someone had once mounted with a replacement handle! The size, shape and presence of fullers is right for the blade, and the lack of hardware for afixing it to a rifle, points to a non--original grip. As always, a nice restoration, and again the best part of the video was supper! A BIG thumbs-up!

Зачётная работа!!! И ножны нормальные, нож правда длинноват... больше для рукопашной схватки подойдёт, чем для рыбалки или кухни... гарду не надо было закручивать, удобнее было её просто обрезать, оставить пару сантиметров, а так она (с моей точки зрения) менее удобна. Жена примерно так мясо с картофелем в духовке запекает и называет это блюдо "Мясо по французски"... Уж не знаю насколько это реально по французски, но получается очень вкусно! 😊👍

Хм... похоже на штык обр. 1907 винтовки Enfield (Enfield bayonet pattern 1907), точнее сказать тяжело ибо клейм, к сожалению, нет. Но есть характерный прямоугольный дол. Отличная работа, большое спасибо :)
