I think it was made in eastern India, in a village called Saraon, and the maker called the knife: "England Polis" (Police), i.e., "English Police Knife."

I’m an individual from the US that doesn’t laugh very often. This had me giggling and smiling like I did when I was in grade school. Genuinely entertaining content, my friend! If I had to describe your content in one word, it would be “adorkable” which, for those not familiar with made up words in English, is a combination of adorable and dork, dork being used in an endearing sense to describe someone silly and playful. Ну, вы же понимаете, что это "сувенирная продукция" ? При значительной нагрузке, он обломится, как раз в месте крепления клинка к шпильке. Нужно больше стачивать, и делать утолщение там, где был латунный больстер, и ставить другой больстер. А так, ну - карандаши затачивать и не более !..

Рукоят ИМХО получилась ну очень квадратная. Рекомендую переходить при изготовлении рукояток на Тиски Ножедела (гугл в помощь).

Рукоять мне кажется не удобная из-за того выступа, хотя скорее всего это было сделано по причине того что лезвие подходит в разряд ХО. Но может быть я и не прав

A survival knife needs a larger tang, or at least a metal handle, to be strong enough for rough use. As it is, it may be prone to breaking.

Well, the first word on the blade is clearly 'England' though I haven't seen examples of that style of lettering for a very long time. In fact, the only people I knew who wrote like that were my grandmothers, maternal and paternal. The second word appears to be 'polis', though it looks different to the first, and seems to be shallower. Perhaps it is an addition, and much damaged by both sharpening and rust?

That is what I call a wall hanger. Pretty to look at, but not much else. I always prefer a full tang. Never liked rat tail tangs, much less what ever kind of tang they call that. Got caught on a boot knife that was built like that in my youth. Broke it first time I used it to try and make a tent stake in the woods. A shame too because the profile of the blade is gorgeous. Be safe.

It was a great restoration and some nice creativity for the strange handle but wouldn't the knife break rather easily at the tang in a survival situation where a lot of pressure would need to be applied?
