I restore clocks, and make money doing it. I found most of the techniques shown here to be far below professional standards, and most of the techniques used are antiquated by at least 30 years. This clock was not restored to working condition. It was band-aided to run for awhile, but I would wager it will stop within a year or two. Watch it for entertainment, but not as an example of how clock repair should look.

I may be 19, but even I enjoy these old fashioned things like this. I also enjoy people trying to repair and make things like this last forever. It's really awesome!

Now, that’s what I call a strip down. Taking that spring out and replacing it deserves a cheer. 👏👏👏👏

Anyone who can remove all the gears of a clock and put them back in correctly deserves a thumbs up!

I have a clock very similar to this one. Thanks to this video, I was able to repair my clock by hand and get it going!

I took apart a Howard Miller pendulum clock, about 40 yr old, because it stopped running. A little KZbin research, seemed that dirt on the little wheel axles was probably the problem. Bought an Amazon oil/cleaning kit, took out the movement, cleaned and oiled everything and it’s running great again. No way would I have gotten into the guts of the movement.

A very clever pendulum clock restoration. Would be interesting to see an expert manicurist do as well with the restorer.

It's weird to see stuff from when I was in my 20's being restored. Makes me feel old.

And this is why you should bring your clocks and watches to a professional.

Well done! I tighten all the bearings, calibrate them with a reamer and clean them with a boxwood stick. I also drop one drop of oil on the teeth of the gears and it spreads. I necessarily lubricate the wheel and the fork.
