On the tugboats where I work, southern crewmen use “ cavel” for big cleats and the cross bar in “H” bits .

The same blocks on my VICTORY model, I made with the help of a rotary tool and a vise - because it was my only power tool at the time... Tools only make the job easier, but that doesn't mean you can't do the same with your hands. It just takes longer! I have been collecting this collection of tools since 2010 and still have a few on my wish list!)))

I'm about to start my first serious ship model, and then I found your channel... Thank you so much for producing many useful videos. I bought a model kit, but it lacks detailed instructions. I found many of your videos showing how to do the details (like how to make knots, setting sail, etc). I now know where on KZbin I should go if I get confused when building my model
